May 19, we finally hit the road. Since we were 5 days late getting started we decided to skip the Oregon/Washington leg of our trip and headed straight to Dillon Montana. First stop was overnight in Reno to see Uncle Tak. We stayed in the Motorhome in front of his house. Set up a business telephone line at his place and took him out to dinner at the Nugget. Next morning, we left early and drove 600 miles to Idaho Falls. Spent the night in a rest stop on I15. Pretty quiet there (NO REEFERs) so everyone got a good night’s sleep. Stopped just over the Alabama border for lunch at Michelle's, a southern-style buffet restaurant. It. Was. Awesome. Clean, delicious, lots of variety, and an extensive dessert bar (my favorite part!). Made it to Montgomery at about 2 PM, a little too late to tour very many sites. The hotel was easy to find and right off the interstate, making travel into downtown very convenient. Our first stop was the V...
