Drop off Sammy with the in-laws. He's going to eat well. We should weigh him first to see the difference Landed in Chicago. No problem. Made it to the rental agency -- guess what? No vans in the lot. Waited around the lobby for about half an hour / 45 minutes while the staff scrambled to locate a van. Finally was given one -- Dodge Grand Caravan with Florida plates. We're in Chicago. Guess we'll stand out in a crowd. Kids fell asleep on the drive down the freeway. Breakfast -- Lou Mitchell's. This has got to be the best place to go for breakfast in the city. We're about to start driving! Everything is packed, the car is ready. Yesterday I picked up the car from Adventures on Wheels, located in New Jersey. The car is a black Ford Focus, year 2000. There was a long traffic jam there, and when I finally got off th...

We work until 11;45 and leave at noon. 320 miles to St. Louis and with a stop to buy an I-pod touch at Sams we're on our way. Road construction makes it a 5 hour and 20 minute trip but we arrive at Busch Stadium without one wrong turn, this has got to be a record. My hapless team, the Astros are playing the mighty Cardinals, my boys team. However my team wins and we stay to the end. It takes us 30 minutes to get out but we leave St. Louis and arrive in Litchfield Il. without a hitch. We stay up too late getting pictures developed and downloaded and apps added to our electronics. Up early and a...
