After a day and a half heading South, Shane and I finally arrived in Fort Lauderdale. We stayed the night at the Westin overlooking the beach (for free!! Gotta love rewards points!). We had Primanti's sandwiches for lunch and drove to West Palm in the evening. Our view from our room at the Westin! Gorgeous!! I could SO live in Fort Lauderdale! We left Central IL at 7am and traveled all day. The drive was uneventful really. We encountered snow in Kentucky which in some places the interstate was down to one lane but the traffic wasn't that bad. We left the GA visitors center in North GA around 4pm to pick up information on the GA Aquarium and places to stay in downtown Atlanta for our trip back. The entire state of GA (North to South) has road construction but again no trouble there. I had brought cold cuts, chips and such for our trip so we ate lunch on the move.
