First day of the trip and what a great way to start a trip , a peaceful place like Joshua Tree NP. We left Austin around 10 am. We drove through West Texas and stopped at Texas Road House in Abilene for lunch. We had reserved seats for the Texas! Musical at Palo Duro Canyon, but actually arrived in Canyon earlier than expected, so we went ahead and drove to S. Amarillo to check into our hotel. After checking in and resting for a few minutes, we drove to Palo Duro Canyon to see the musical. The musical was great, and a perfect ending to a long day in the car. The drive from Amarillo to Colorado Springs was an easy one. We stopped at a Burger King for lunch (to appease Kenny) and arrived in C...
