We had high hopes of making it to Arizona in 24 hours and to do so are driving straight through the night. We left this vacation at 12:00 pm and headed out for the long adventure. What a waste of time and effort..Anyway, We arrived in Reykjavik about an hour late. The first thing that we were encouraged to do was shop at the large duty free shop. It was a really long drive. We got a late start Thursday and drove through storms so we didn't get as far as we planned. I couldn't drive any farther so we pulled off in Stuart, Iowa. All the hotels were full. I couldn't drive any more so we spent the night in the car in the McDonald's parking lot. I woke up at 6 and we headed out. The drive through Nebraska was so boring we thought it would never end, but it was a beautiful drive up the mountain through Roosevelt National Forest to Estes Park, Colorado, where our campground is.
