Colorado Hotels

We are leaving our temporary home in Castle Rock, CO later in the afternoon being fully equipped with camping stuff, lot of snacks and plenty cold drinks in our shiny new cooler to fill in our hunger cravings during the long drive. I spent a good deal of the day today (Saturday, June 27, 2009) on the computer finalizing the itinerary for our Colorado summer vacation. Hotels have been booked. In fact, I inadvertantely booked an extra night at the Holiday Inn Rocky Mountain Park in Estes Park. I reserved the room online at Priceline.com, then as soon as I realized I didn't need 4 nights, I called the hotel directly and they took off that extra night. Although the website was adiment about their no refunds/cancellations/changes policy, we'll see what happens when I check out. I'm trying to make this a well-planned trip but ...

GRISWOLD DAY -- Started out the morning from Las Vegas. Drive was good. Kids were getting hungry so we decided to stop in St. George, Utah for Sonic Burger for breakfast. I haven't been to Sonic yet, but the kids say its great. I was looking forward to trying their frito burrito. As we're heading up the exit ramp, a crash happens in front of us. We couldn't see it, but it involve a student driver, a cadillac, and a 90 year old man.
