Thursday, 09-20-07 From Van Nuys, California, through Nevada, Arizona & stopping in Cove Fort, Utah. We left Van Nuys, California about midnight Thursday 09-20-07 right outside of Nevada we pulled off the highway & went to sleep. We met up at The Hacienda hotel and pretty much set off on our way to Big Sur. This was the longest driving day which probably worked out well as we spent most of the journey getting to know other people in the group. On the way we stopped off to see a colony of Elephant Seals. The landscape was incredible; its not hard to see why the Pacific Coast Highway is seen as one of the most scenic drives in the world. We are leaving our temporary home in Castle Rock, CO later in the afternoon being fully equipped with camping stuff, lot of snacks and plenty cold drinks in our shiny new cooler to fill in our hunger cravings during the long drive.
