Switzerland Hotels

We are an Indian family of 3 residing in Bahrain, including a 4 yr old child. This is our first visit to Switzerland and we'll be there for 15 days. Our flight from Bahrain was at 4.50 am (Friday). We fly by Emirates Airlines via Dubai. The flight was good and we arrived at Zurich airport at 1.25pm (Friday). Right from the start we get a feel of the Swiss transport system, where a train takes you all the way from the disembarking point to the immigration area..great! Today we left lovely Schaffhausen and came to Vevey via Winterthur and Lausanne. It's a pretty train ride from Lausanne to Vevey, along Lake Geneva. Our hotel's in Lally, just below Les Pléiades (1400m) so we had to take the cogwheel train up. The view at Les Pléiades is breathtaking, with a view of the Alps and Lake Geneva. The owner of the hotel we stayed in, Agnes tells us that she is having a barbecue dinner for 35 CHF per person, which comes up to S$180, so we declined. Dubai is indeed a 'Do and Buy' place to be with large shopping malls that you can really shop till you drop. However, I must say that getting around in Dubai is difficult without cabs which can cost a lot if you are on a budget trip. Luckily for me, my hotel is just a few minutes walk to a large shopping mall and I spent my time there before my tour excursion. The sundune dinner I went to was really marvellous.
