My job as a chocolate importer for Nirvana Chocolates and Chocolatesource.com has many perks, but perhaps my personal favorite is that I get to visit Bruges! You may know this city from the movie "In Bruges" where Colin Farrell plays a character who complains that it's all old buildings and museums. Took the Amtrak up to the Newark airport, and boarded our 6 pm flight to Brussels. We were two hours delayed when they discovered that a blind woman on the plane had not crated her guide dog to be stored as cargo, and was instead in the cabin. Got a few hours of sleep on the overnight flight. Despite our late takeoff, we were only about an hour delayed at landing. Getting through immigration was a breeze; they took our passports, asked what the nature of our visit was, and we were through in less than five minutes. Well, we have plane tickets. Roundtrip to from SLC to Paris and back. Date of this entry is really September 13, 2009. But since the date of our trip starts on December 18, Yahoo only recognizes this as a start date. Weird, but whatever. Now we just have to figure out where we go from here. I actually wouldn't mind spending the entire trip in Paris. Taking our time to experience the city and all it has to offer. But Matt brings up a good point.
