PROLOGUE I am making this journal to hopefully inspire people to grab their bag and travel around the world This was my first trip alone outside of Canada, its a hastily planned trip so there were a lot of things that Ive overlooked like when to go, budget, memory cards, souvenirs - to name a few. 8/7/08-8/9/08 - The flight nearly took 2 days. I got on the flight from JFK at about 10 and made a stop in Vancouver for a couple of hours, then continued the flight to Hong Kong International Airport and transferred to a Tokyo flight. Crazy, right? We finally reached Tokyo in 2-3 hours from Hong Kong. As we're heading to the Hilton Narita Hotel, I had a great feeling about this trip already. After a long-haul flight that commenced in NYC, soaring above the vast Pacific Ocean, connecting in Tokyo/Narita Airport, landing in Osaka, and an hour-plus bus ride, I arrive at the former Imperial City of over 1.4 million.
