Arrived Panama City, stayed at Country Inn and Suites... top floor + ocean view= worth it! Right on Amador Causeway, view of the ships heading up the canal... drive down Amador for some nightlife... reasonable fish dinner at Mi Ranchito .... boat to Taboga just further down ... Walking around Casco Viejo in the morning, Miraflores watching the boats pass through the locks in the canal and lunching on empanadas, El Cangrejo for dinner .... After waking up at 4:00AM my boyfriend, Matt, and I took a $65 cab ride to Reagan National. By about 5:45 we had checked in, checked the bags, made it through security, and found our gate. The waiting game began and we filled the time by practicing Spanish and eating airport food which just never ends up being as good as it looks/should be for the price. If we were to travel to San Jose CR again, we would definitely choose to stay at the Hotel Grano de Oro. We tried several hotels in San Jose and Grano de Oro was by far the best quality for a reasonable price. The price is about the equivalent of staying at a Holiday Inn in the USA but the quality is more like a higher-end Hilton or Marriott. We spent our second day touring the city and stopped at a number of museums.
