Shame on you!
Our family was at the Comfort Suites in Johnson Creek, WI. We were in the pool area during the muratic acid incident (June 4, 2009). The hotel didn't call 911 until after we left to go to the ER because our son was vomiting and lethargic and we were all sick, they said if we felt we needed medical attention that we should go but sign some paper for them first. That should have been our first indication that this would not go smoothly. It has been over 2 months since this happened and we are still trying to get them to pay our ER bills from the incident. We have been told several times that the bills were paid only to find out after calling the hospital that they were not. A call to their insurance (Allied Insurance Co.) confirmed that they had no record of it, and a claim was finally opened today (August 11, 09). The General Manager, Butch Johnson, lied repeatedly to us about taking care of the bills and even the day of the incident denied that there was any problem with the hot tub or pool, yet, the hot tub is still shut down 2 months later. They should reevaluate their procedures such as check, call and care instead of going into a defensive, investigative mode. They never called to ask how any of us were doing and even now they refuse to take our calls and rarely return them. Mr. Johnson was extremely uncooperative and treated us like it was our fault and our problem. All we wanted was for them to take care of the medical expenses from the incident at their hotel, an apology or a bit of concern might have been nice as well, especially since the rest of our vacation was spent being sick and recovering from the muratic acid. We try to teach our children right from wrong and we now use the hotel incident and Mr. Johnson as an example of "WHAT NOT TO DO" with our children. Shame on you Comfort Suites and Butch Johnson, have you no conscience?
