Silver Lake Park Campgrounds, Belmont

We camped here this summer and must say that we were completely disapointed. We felt discriminated against and harassed. My son is black and the owner went as far as to TRACK US DOWN at a neighbors house to complain about us walking through the woods. That couldn't wait till we returned? According to the owner, our three boys were too aggressive on the playground equipment yet she wouldn't tell us what they did or who they did it to. When we demanded to know what happened we were accused of causing our kids to be rude and misbehaved. This was very strange since a neighbor had just got done telling us how well behaved and manorly our kids were. We wish the first time the owners came to us complaining, that they just gave us our money back and let us go our merry way. We were extremely disapointed and will never go back. Take head to the description of this campsite..."Our unique peaceful atmosphere" and "The campground atmosphere is quiet, relaxed, and friendly". They should emphasize Quiet and remove friendly!! This is a retirement community where the owners are constantly on patrol ... not a place for kids over the age of 6. The staff was friendly until they began attacking us. They claim no dogs yet the owners have one?!?! Along with a cat. We are considering filing a complaint against them for the harassment and possible discrimination suite.
