Christopher's Country Lodge, Oneonta

This is a rustic place to stay with a fair price. The food at the restaurant is the best in the whole town. I have stayed here numerous times and have always been satisfied. if your looking for a five star resort with all the fancy stuff this is not for you. If you are a log cabin style person...bingo...this is your style.

This hotel has a 30 day cancellation policy. If you cancel your reservation, even though it was made in less than a months time, they will charge you one nights stay! This hotel will also raise it's rates depending what is going on at the colleges. If there is an event, such as Family Weekend - the rates go beyond their weekend rates to make money, we'll stay in Cooperstown - thank you.

I stayed at christopher's while my son played baseball and it was a great value and the manager was very helpful. Having a restaurant was a plus and food was great. If you are looking for a place to stay I would check into Christopher's

I was traveling through the area and saw Christophers's while I was looking for a place to stay for the night. The "manager" that was working at the desk did not know anything. She was useless. The staff knew more then she did. The room was $150 a night so I expected a clean room. I got checked into my room and found it to be dirty. The staff member that I talked to told me that the "mamager" checked them everyday and they would move me to another room. Upon getting into that room, suprise, it was dirty as well. I did not stay. This was the worst experience ever. I wouls not recommend this place ever to my worst enemy. The "mamager" did not even say I'm sorry. When I asked for the owners name I was not given it. The staff was horrible as well as the rooms. Don't stay here if you want a clean room.

I have stayed at several hotels in Oneonta and Christophers Lodge is by far the best value. I found the rooms to be clean and staff more than helpfull. The adjoining rest and bar is great fun and food. I will stay at Christophers on my next trip to Oneonta,N.Y.

If you're staying in Oneonta, you're better off going with one of the hotel chains. For the same price as the others, this place has the WORST customer service we've ever experienced, and it appears to be run by irresponsible teenagers. Upon arrival, our room was unmade (messy sheets, dirty towels, garbage-filled wastebaskets, etc.). We were given a new room. The bathroom light was broken (which was not condusive to our getting ready for a wedding). The following day, the room was not cleaned after we were gone for more than 6 hours. We had tor equest the room be cleaned. No fresh towels....another request that had to be made and took forever to be met. Upon check-out, asked for the managers contact info. He never called me back. Don't stay here.
