The Greene Ave Hostel, New York

This place was in the middle of nowhere. They said it took only 20 minutes to get to the city by train but it actually takes much longer. The neighborhood is also scary. There are no bars or cafes or markets. It is very far from anything to do or see. The rooms are cramped and you can hear people in the hallway and the bathroom at night. The pictures on the website are not true to what the place really looks like. It was cheaper than a lot of other hostels in New York. It costs only $25 to stay but this is because it is in a neighborhood that is far from everything and is on a slow train line. There are plenty of hostels in Manhattan that are around the same price or a little more in fun neighborhoods. The bathrooms were clean and the common areas were big and comfortable. It seemed like there were a lot of people living there and not many backpackers. Some of the people living there were also a bit weird.
