Bad Little Falls Inn, Machias

The "innkeeper" was desheveled. The foyer was dirty and dusty, as well as the "reception" area. The room was dirty and dusty. I had to stand on the bed to close the curtains behind the bed (no headboard) no blinds for privacy. Linens were dingy. Blanket had pulls and holes. The bathroom had a broken blind and didn't go all the way to the top of window. There was a hole between the floor and tub (2x3). It got cold at night (33 degrees) no heat. Didn't sleep at all. In the morning I got ready to leave - asked for my check back for next 2 nights (was told it was already deposited). It was deposited the following day! I told David I couldn't stay because of the conditions - he seemed puzzled!!!!!! There's an American Express sign in front of the "inn", but David doesn't take any credit cards!!! I got stuck in the driveway as I was leaving. The kitchen had metal cabinets that were rusty. The blind didn't go all the way to the top in the kitchen and the spotlight from next door reflected off the mirror in the bedroom as there wasn't a door between the kitchen and the bedroom. I stayed for one night, but paid for 3 nights. The website is misleading - it looks nice and clean, but isn't. I was told he opened the previous week, yet my room as the only one ready (there are suppose to be 4 rooms available). Bad Little Falls Inn gives an unfavorable impression for the Machias area. I know the area well, as I have family that has lived there for 50 plus years. It's terrible that this is allowed to happen!!!!!
