Palomar Inn, Chula Vista

The staff is very helpful & friendly. I had reservations that I booked online but had some family joining us. They accommodated us with an additional room at a reasonable rate. In the morning they greeted us with hot coffee & a variety of Danishes.

I was here last year and even gave them a very nice review (which I now deleted because of a very unpleasant experience this year). I booked a room from July 16 - July 19, 2011. I called the hotel on July 16, 2011 at 1pm informing them that I will be coming from Las Vegas therefore I won't be at the hotel by 3pm (check-in time) but I will definitely be there and willing to pay the agreed amount on the reservation. My party and I left Las vegas at 4pm and got to the motel around 1:30am, as we were traveling with 2 small kids, we had to make frequent stops. To my horror, the attendant told me that they cancelled my reservation and gave the room to another customer. Considering I called to tell them that I'm coming and I will be paying the entire amount, I really think that it's unfair for them to do what they did. It was the middle of the night and with 2 small kids in tow they couldn't offer me anything - NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY!! and told me to look elsewhere. Since I cannot park anywhere and put the kids lives in danger by sleeping in the van, I drove all the way to Anaheim at my dad's place and came back the next morning because we have tickets for SeaWorld, LegoLand and San Diego Zoo so we had to find another hotel to stay in. Palomar Inn ruined that part of our trip. I will never stay here again!!!

The place is really very comfortable. The location is perfect. Our room was clean and comfortable. I love their 32' flat panel tv with all extended channels and few movie channels free! The wi-fi was really fast and it did surprise me since it was free. The motel is very quite and the management is keeping it really safe and family oriented. We certainly will go there again every time we are in san Diego. The price is affordable for the services they offered - it's wonderful to have a refg. Micro. and coffee all three in the room at no extra charge. It's worth every penny.

There are no words. Anyplace that thinks that a shower curtain rod is an amenity is pathetic. It's a dirty hole in the wall. Do yourself a favor and sleep in your car. We had a plumbing problem. Their resolution was to hand me a plunger. No, I am not kidding! What a fleabag.

I needed a motel last minute anywhere in SD. I found this motel and immediately made a reservation online (Rate is lower online than in person). It is like a 5-min walk from the Trolley which we needed to take to go to a Padres game. The staff was very nice. Although it didn't have a lot of walking space, we were only there to sleep which meant we did not really need much space. We stayed in a King Deluxe-Room 306 and it was the best. It was next to the elevator and it was very quiet. I will definitely stary there again and will request the same room.

My wife and I have done a lot of traveling and stayed in hotels/motels all over the country. This one is in the top five worst. When we got there the fridge and micro wave and clock were not plugged in, after we started the fridge (which had no control dial) all of our food froze. The room was small and was over crowded with furniture which restricted walking. The carpet was worn and was open in places along the seams. The toilet seat was loose, the curtain (window and shower) were mis-hung,the towels were too thin and there were not enough. The breakfast was pitiful as compared to many other continental breakfasts we have had. The bed was too soft or old and did not sit on the frame which created another trip hazard. When we checked in at 5:45 pm we had to do so thru a security window slot and we were not greeted with any kind of personality. In all we were very dis-satisfied and expressed this to the owners. I would not recommend this Inn to any one regardless of the price.

Great hotel. Friendly staff at hotel, good restaurant to eat, and fun atmosphere at night.

Clean, all-white bedding. A wonderful find for any traveler, or vacation spot. The staff were so nice and wonderful, the rooms are outstanding,will be staying here from now on.

The customer service attitude was fine, but the place was so dirty! You get less than what you pay for. Would not recommend and will not return.
