Colonial Inn Motel, Nags Head

The staff was great and very accommodating. You could not ask for nicer people. The room was reasonably clean. Location was good and the price was decent. The Colonial Inn is located near some of our favorite places and next to the Nags Head Fishing Pier, which has a restaurant. We just walked over for lunch and to spend time on the pier. By the way, we enjoyed both. Also, the Inn has a pool but it was closed for the season while we were there. Breakfast was included and it was the standard pastries and coffee type breakfast. Unfortunately, none of the above can make up for condition of the building. We visited in November and literally had to hang a bedspread over the door to block the wind and cold. You could see light around the door frame. It felt like eternity to get the water hot enough to wash dishes or take a shower. Overall, we just about froze and I still get snide remarks from my husband. We are returning to OBX in April and he repeatedly reminds me where we will not be staying.
