The Machaca Hill at Laughing Falcon Reserve is located just five miles north of Punta Gorda Town and a mile and a half off Belize's southern highway. A private nature reserve, Laughing Falcon Reserve in Toledo, the southernmost territory of Belize, is more than a home for Machaca Hill. Originally established as a fishing lodge, the new owners, Outpost International, are committed to managing this 11,000-acre private nature reserve to promote and encourage the sustainable use of this verdant tropical environment. The new and improved Arbor Restaurant offers a balanced mixture of fresh, local seafood and regional cuisine with many of the herbs, vegetables and tropical fruit organically grown at Machaca Hill which can be served either in the dining room or on spacious verandah. The lodge features 12 elegantly appointed cabanas terraced on the hillside each with a sitting area and private bath adorned with hand made ceramic tile; and private veranda with hammocks. These units are also fitted with a coffeemakers, mini-refrigerators, safes, and hairdryers. All cabanas have both air-conditioning and ceiling fans. It also offer wireless Internet service for one???s laptop in all cabins and most areas near the main lodge and pool.
