I left my heart there...
I discovered it through their website. In april, prices can go really steep so finding a place to stay in venice at 80euros was a good find. The hotel is easy to find provided you stop at the right station which is Rialto and not St. Marco.
The staff at the counter was pleasant and informed us that our room
was ready when we arrived. I was a tad disappointed when i entered the room only because it didn't look exactly like the room in the website. How naive of me. I had to remind myself that I wasn't in a 5 star hotel. Secondly, my friend and I were told that hotels will switch off the a/c in April. Bummer! It was hot and sunny in Venice unlike the weather forecast I had checked before coming. The room didn't have a good view so there was no point looking out the window.
What I liked about the hotel was that the bathroom was extremely clean (that's very important) cleaner than some 5 star hotels. The hotel has a very good location near restaurants and a street market where I bought my souvenirs. The room started to grow on me and forgot the fact that we had breakfast the next morning. There was a knock on the door and the lady greeted us with a warm smile with our breakfast tray in hand. When we were at the counter to check out, the guy bid us farewell with a handshake and they won our hearts.
Overall, Residenza Goldoni may not be the hotel you're looking for if you want a grand canal view. But for its price and good service, I'm definitely gonna stay at the inn again next time i'm there.
