Great Experience For The Family
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/30/10
We are a family of 4 with our children both under age 7. Our children loved taking the basket, and going to the chicken coop to gather some eggs. We all enjoyed watching the cows get milked early one of the mornings.
The breakfast is exactly what is advertised - continental. There were cold cereals, instant oatmeal, seasonal fruits, muffins, doughnuts, coffee, milk, juices, breads and English muffins. The lighter breakfast fare suited us very well since many of the other meals we ate were the heartier Amish meals. The accommodations were nice and in close proximity of many Lancaster attractions. There are 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms, but Glenda only rents out 2 of the rooms at a time so that each family has their own bathroom. If there is a large party of people that need all 3 rooms, she will rent out the third room.
Glenda and Charlie were wonderful hosts, and we learned a great deal about living on and running a farm. We have a greater respect and appreciation of farmers and life on a farm. We felt very comfortable in their home and when we make it back to Lancaster, we will definitely stay here again. I know my children can’t wait to go back!
