Like my second family
By Laura Ryan, 7/30/11
Glenda and Charlie Neff are the perfect hostess and host. They are friendly and go out of their way to help you start your day off right. Glenda couldn't be more friendly. I do believe it must be odd to share your home with strangers, but her children (who are all over the age of 16) seem fine sharing their home and lives with visitors. This was our third visit in the past few years and I hugged Glenda both coming and going. When we left, I felt sad, but knew that hopefully we'd be back in the future, especially since our daughter loves the cats and the whole farm life!

Great Experience For The Family
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/30/10
We are a family of 4 with our children both under age 7. Our children loved taking the basket, and going to the chicken coop to gather some eggs. We all enjoyed watching the cows get milked early one of the mornings. The breakfast is exactly what is advertised - continental. There were cold cereals, instant oatmeal, seasonal fruits, muffins, doughnuts, coffee, milk, juices, breads and English muffins. The lighter breakfast fare suited us very well since many of the other meals we ate were the heartier Amish meals. The accommodations were nice and in close proximity of many Lancaster attractions. There are 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms, but Glenda only rents out 2 of the rooms at a time so that each family has their own bathroom. If there is a large party of people that need all 3 rooms, she will rent out the third room. Glenda and Charlie were wonderful hosts, and we learned a great deal about living on and running a farm. We have a greater respect and appreciation of farmers and life on a farm. We felt very comfortable in their home and when we make it back to Lancaster, we will definitely stay here again. I know my children can’t wait to go back!

They may want to rethink being in the B&B business
By bob, 4/19/10
We were very excited after reading the website description about having the opportunity of waking on at working dairy farm and seeing the operation first hand. The setting in beautiful Amish country is as described. The farm house is old and well kept. A private bath is down the hall. The grounds are rolling and the barn is close to the house. The folks in the barn were friendly. But it didn't really feel too warm and comfy. The room sat right on the road and it is a busy one. We were kept up with the noise of passing trucks. We were hoping for a Amish style breakfast of their own fresh eggs and maybe a taste of raw milk. But we saw a bit of bread, a toaster, some boxed cereal, and some bananas. Defiantly serve your self with no effort by the propitiatory. We stay in a lot of B&B's, and have seen some nice breakfast spreads. This is a bed, skip the breakfast. We also felt that we couldn't leave fast enough. We were one of the first of the season breaking several months of privacy in their home. Things may warm up after the intruders become commonplace again. But if they feel that the B&B part of the farm no longer fit the family life, they just may want to rethink the whole hospitality thing. I thought we'd see the calves fed and more of the working farm, but you must explore on your own. Nice place to drive around. But I have to say I've seen Lancaster County and I really don't need to go back.
