Checked out 2 days early

The hotel itself is fine. The room was clean and comfortable, but the breakfast was simply horrible. But my main gripe is the lack of internet (unless you have your laptop with you, which I didn't) and the inability to make international phone calls from my room. After a day of business I wanted to relax and file my report to my Bangkok office. But I was told to buy a phone card from reception and use the pay phone in the lobby. Not only is this not private, it's not comfortable and it's not easy to spread working papers around. Also there is no restaurant. And there are no international restaurants (Pizza Hut etc) within reasonable walking distance. There are lots of eateries, but the menus are in Chinese and no one speaks English. I lived on pringles and beer for 2 days. I booked out 2 days early, lost my advance payment and took the train back to Taipei.
