Hotel Del Mar, Quepos

Stumbled upon this place in the early rainy season, so couldn't take full advantage of everything. But the location is PERFECT! Can literally hear the waves crash from our bedroom, granted was also during a tropical storm we managed to catch, but was still great. The staff was alot warmer than Jaco, the rooms perfect; nothing overly fancy, but bright cheerful decor, simple kitchen amenities and clean. Was a bit more at $70, but at that point realized CR isn't the bargain spot we thought it was so dealt with it. And the little restaurant/bar just past the mangrove at the end of the hotel on the beach was fabulous! Casual and delicious food with excellent location. Even eating breakfast with the storm coming in and getting your food salted by the sea was doable at this place. Be sure to rub the huge boxer, Sampson under his neck and you'll have a friend for life!
