Lied to by the staff...
The hotel itself is nice, but the staff and the way it is managed is definitely sub par. I was attending a wedding and this was the hotel of choice by the bride and groom. I was responsible for making the reservations for me and a few family members, so I reserved a few rooms a month in advance. Aside from getting the right size beds, the only request I had is that the rooms be next to each other. I was told this couldn't be guaranteed, but they would put in a request to try to make this happen. The fact that I couldn't get three rooms next to each other a month out was the first thing that caught my attention. Then, a day before the wedding I received a call asking if I would like to downsize one of my rooms so that the staff could try and get my rooms adjoining... so I agreed. When I finally checked into the hotel, the rooms were not adjoining and now I was stuck with a smaller room and lost a bed in the process.
When asking the front desk about the situation they told me they couldn't guarantee adjoining rooms (a caution to those traveling with young kids you want to keep an eye on). So since I gave up my original room and didn't get my request fulfilled, I asked to be switched back to my original reservation so everyone in my party could have a bed. I was told that wasn't possible because the hotel was "overbooked".
So in summary: the hotel was overbooked which led to me getting a call the day before my check-in and being told a lie in an effort to get me to give up my room with double beds. Stupidly I fell for it, and ended up with a room with fewer beds that was not next to the other rooms in my reservation. As a business owner myself, I take customer service very seriously, and being lied to and talked out of a reservation is about as low as it gets. While the hotel itself is nice, I will not be going back to this hotel in the future, and I recommend you do the same.
