Never Again!
Booked a 3 day stay before returning to the states. The hotel reminds you of a 70's resort and is in need of major repairs.
Had a party of 4 and had to ask EVERY SINGLE DAY for extra towels. Response was " we only issue 2 towels per room."
AC was very noisy (although it kept the room cold) and furniture was old.
No room service menu, not a single tourist guide, flyer etc. My wife went to the restaurant to get a menu and all she was given was a xerox copy of a menu. The complimentary breakfast was OK.
Grounds needed landscaping, several rooms leaked water onto the hallway and the children's play area needed repairs.
Asked for an iron and they did not have an ironing board. What kind of service is that?
The worst part: I had booked the reservation online from the USA. Our travel plans changed and we needed to check in a day earlier. The hotel quoted us a much cheaper rate on the phone for the extra night. At checkout they charged more than what was quoted over the phone. Tried to talk to the manager about it but it came to a point where I realized nothing was going to get accomplished. Mine was not the only complaint, people checking out also complained about having to switch rooms 3 times for a one night stay, etc.
Panama is a great country and I definitely recommend it to anyone. This is the closest hotel to the airport and a lot of people could get the wrong impression about such a beautiful country if they base it on the Riande Aeropuerto. With the new roads (corredor sur) you could be downtown in no time and stay at a much better hotel. Riande was the most expensive hotel during this trip and the worst experience and service. Would not stay there ever again.
