Runaway Beach Club, Kissimmee

We traveled to Walt Disney World with my wife's cousins and their children. We wanted a larger room/villa that could accommodate 11 people. While the price was reasonable, the room and service were disappointments. The rooms were really dirty and dingy. For example, there were stains of an unknown origin (!) on the sofa cushions and the blades of the ceiling fan hadn't been dusted in at least a year. Perhaps the most disappointing part of the hotel was the fact that there was none, I mean zero, service. We got 7 towels in our room for 11 people; if we had asked for more, we would have been hit with a $50 housekeeping charge. Perhaps the most disappointing part of the hotel was the fact that there was none, I mean zero, service. We got 7 towels in our room for 11 people; if we had asked for washer and dryer in our room, we had to launder the towels at least once a day. We got no housekeeping at all--no towels, no new shampoo or soap, no trash removal. The beds are also awful--beware if you have back problems. If you decide to stay here, bring all your own toiletries. There's a WalMart down the street, but factor the purchase of toiletries and soap (and maybe towels) into your price decision. That won't help the dinginess of the place, but still. One big plus--free, dependable Wi Fi. I would not stay here again, in all likelihood, and instead I'd check out other places in the area.

Place is a dump. When questioned about run down condition the management was rude . Didn't feel safe on grounds. Save your money & sleep in your car.

Like: location, pool Dislike: no maid service (16 days) , no towel or sheet exchange, $10 resort fee per day . Water heater popping all day and night but maintenance could no t( or had no clue how to) repair. Utensils and cookware scanty; fridge sounded like concrete mixer- though it was a fine ice maker.( None at the resort). Potato chips and other sundries in snack bar 3 months out of date and priced exhorbantly. Front desk did not even know where a mail drop was nearby, or any post office for that matter. I sure would not reccomend this place to anyone else. Did I mention the help taking guest parking or the ongoing teenage wrestling tournament participants(all 270 of them) there on weekends? We had a lower unit, and the stomping around of folks over us was unreal. Apparently the floors are 2x4 construction You should just "Runaway" from this one!

Good points: I rented a 1 bedroom unit. It came with a full bathroom, living dining room, and kitchen area - I do like granite counter tops. It was clean, large, bright, and well equiped. I arrived close to midnight, good friendly service, the maid had done a nice job and I had a restful night's sleep. The room included wireless internet, worked seamlessly, it is difficult to say that it was free when a $10/day resort charge is added to your charges. Bad Points: I visited reception around 6 pm on Friday. Still only 1 person at the desk and things clearly backed up. A line at the desk and frustrated people on hold on the phone. Pots and pans are loosing their non stick coating and the bed was not made up on the weekend. Overall, nice place, fair value, and I would return.

My husbands parents wanted to get away with the kids during the summer and what better place to go than Florida with the warm weather and WALT DISNEY WORLD!! We looked at numerous resorts and couldn't find one that topped our normal stary the runaway beach club! We've always enjoyed it and will continue to come back when we are down here. The resort itself is beautiful and the staff is so awesome!!

My family decided to have a get together and what better place than the Runaway Beach Club. It is a very beautiful resort and the staff is so friendly. The rooms are so nice and are always so clean when we go there. And besides all of that we are within 2-4 miles of Disney. It was so much fun and i'd really like to do this every year!

I just absolutely love this resort that i always want to come back. My fiance and I love going down once a year to get away from home but yet to be at home. The resort is so comfy and we enjoy it every time. Great place to get away and still feel relaxed!

My mother and I went down to Kissimmee to see some family and meet up with some friends and we stayed at the Runaway Beach club and absolutely LOVED it! The resort itself was magnificant and the rooms were so large and so comfortable i could have called it home. I think this will be happening more often now and i can't wait!

I myself just needed to be away for a weekend and wanted to meet some long-time friends in Orlando that i haven't seen for years. I decided on the runaway beach club resort because it just looked very peaceful and had everything that i need in my stay. I was very surprised when i got there though...it was even better than i had even imagined! The staff was very nice and knew what they were doing and the rooms were magnificant! I really would like to take my family down to take in what i got to take in!

Me and a few of my boys went to Mike Ditkas Runaway Beach Club Resort..not only did they have a great fitness room, they also had a basketball court. the free shuttle to and from disney world took away the stress of having to find transportation to the theme park. I really didnt want to come home! Next year I will be staying alot longer..it is nice to leave all you care and stress at home..and that is exactly what mike ditkas resort allows!
