First and last time

This was a destination wedding/honeymoon/family vacation trip. We rented 2 separate rooms since there were so many of us. The front desk asked my mom if she wanted extra linens for either room. My mom told her yes since my sister has 2 small children. They stayed in a 1 bedroom. The rest of us stayed in a 2 bedroom with 4 so called "double beds" and a queen sleeper sofa. My parents shared one bedroom and my grandmother and I shared the other. My fiancee, now husband, slept on the queen sleeper sofa which he said was very uncomfortable. The "double bed" couldn't have been true because I'm 5'9" and my feet hung off the bed. If you wanted Maid Service there was a door hanger to hang on the outside of the door. I'm not sure what their version of maid service was but let me tell you what it means....NO vaccumming, NO sweeping...we needed more bath linens and we never received them. Yes, they were on the floor. One morning we were in the room when they came by. She asked if we needed more linens and we told her yes. I had to pick up the used towels and bring them to her. In return, she gave us 9 towels and 2 washclothes. What I gave her was 3 washclothes, 4 towels and a bath rug. She told us she didn't have anymore washclothes. We bathed using handtowels which seemed to be in endless supply. The handle on the kitchen cabinet came off. There was a huge crack in the kitchen countertop. When it came to cooking in the room, we had to wash everything we used the first time. One frying pan had black crud in it, which when, after washed it and heated oil in it smelled like fish. We had to wash sand out of drinking glasses. The refrigerator was nasty. The drawers for veggies and fruit had "leftovers" in them. Maid service only made up the beds 1 day out of the 8 we were there. She did however put 3 dishes in the dishwasher and turn it on. The mattresses were worn out and wouldn't stay on the foundation. The linens wouldn't stay on the beds. There was no discount at the pier and the pier staff seemed to have no patience with anyone. If there was a heated pool, it wasn't at this place. My sister and her children went to both pools, neither heated. Only thing heated was hot tubs and there were only 2 of those. Parking was terrible. You had to park on the street side which consisted of bottom 2 floors for pier, next 2 floors for restaurant, remainder of floors were for guests. After a bad storm midweek, the middle elevator oceanfront made this horrible noise each time it went by each floor. That was fixed by end of week. Our departure was terrible as well. The elevators were slow. We waited so long that we decided to go up to go down. I ended up taking the stairs down to the ground floor when we were leaving. There were no carts to assist in loading and unloading cars. There are only about a dozen spaces to park when you arrive to check in which is less than efficient when you have 18 floors in just one tower. We didn't let it ruin our vacation/honeymoon/wedding but will not be back. Looks better on the website than in person. Also, when making reservations, if you can avoid it, avoid the pay in advance option. Make your reservations via phone, not online.
