needs improvement
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/02/09
We stayed at the Prince Resort for a week, and should have known from the very beginning it was going to be an interesting week. We arrived and checked in no problem; the front desk staff was was friendly. When we arrived at our room and walked in...it had not been cleaned at all. I called the front desk and was told they would send someone over. Well, 25 minutes later, there was still no one at our room to clean it. We had brought our luggage up with us on a cart. While my husband stayed in the rom with our belongings, i went to the front desk to inquire about the situation. Again, the staff was very nice and apologized; we were assigned another room in the oceanfront building (our original room was a marsh view; the one we were then given was not oceanfront). When we arrived at the new room, it had only been surface cleaned. Instead of complaining anymore, we decided to get on with our vacation. We did not walk on the floor in bare feet. We were in an end unit, and for some reason there was a door that separated our room and another room fromthe rest of the hall. Whenever anyone came or went from the other room, we could hear, very loudly, two doors slam. About mid-week, our room keys stopped working. When it came time to check out, I was told I owed them money; I did not. After about 15 minutes the front desk clerk said the problem was corrected and that they actually owed me money back. Needless to say, i did ask for a detailed printout of my bill. There were some positives about the Prince; it is in a good location if you like the Cherry Grove area. The bar at the pier was great, nothing fancy, but good food, and the bartendars were nice. The rooms did have pretty much anything you would need for a long stay as far as kitchen items, laundry, etc.

Great Stay
By dp4477, 09/28/09
We just returned from the Prince Resort. Our stay was great. Room was clean, housekeeping came everyday. Pools were fine. If you like to fish, its a great place to stay, the pier is right there. We were very happy with everything.

Won't stay here again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/19/09
the mattress was so hard my back hurt the whole time, old mattress, no pillow top or cushioning. the shower had very little pressure and the tub filled up with water while showering. the breakfast buffet for $10 was nasty. liked the sister resort Towers on the Grove much better. stayed there in May 09. Should've gone back there instead.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/25/09
The check-in staff do not know what they are doing. It makes me think that their employees are unknowledgeable, unfriendly, and super unhelpful!! Location-wise, cleanliness, and overall value is reasonable. The area is great. However, it's the staff we encountered that were horrible. There are many other resorts like just Prince Resort that we can choose from, but I will never go back to Prince Resort again just because I would never want to deal with such rude and unfriendly service again. If you ask to speak to a manager, they will lie and say the manager is out, or that there is no manager on duty at that specific time, or even go so far as to say they are the manager on duty when it's obvious that they weren't. If you leave a message on the phone to their "manager", they will not return your call. The staff made their mistake look like it was the customer's fault. Then had the audacity to ask, "What do you want me to do about it?".

Perfect for a relaxing vacation.
By Carlos, 08/13/09
Stayed at the Prince Resort for our summer vacation in the beginning of August 2009. We stayed in the first building on one of the higher floors. We had a gorgeous room with a great view of the Pier, the beach, and the Ocean. The room was larger than expected, with a working kitchen, dining area and living room with a TV. Computer access was with a lan cable within the room, not wifi. The room was cleaned every day except for once when my teenage daughter slept in past midday. We thought the room was more than reasonably clean for a beach front accommodation. The walk out to the beach was easy; a mere couple of minutes and you were on the beach. All the pools, both at the first building and the roof top pools at the second building were clean and easy to use. Unfortunately we went when there were a lot of little children around, they did distract from the enjoyment of the pools. The restaurant at the Prince is not very good, the breakfast buffet is rather overpriced for what one gets, and the dinner food was just not good. The Chef was friendly and came to our table. Then again, there are plenty of excellent restaurants within a half hour drive up and down the Myrtle/North Myrtle stretch. Would we stay at the Prince Resort again? Yes, without a second thought. We may reserve our stay a bit later for a more peaceful pool experience, and we certainly would not eat at 3500 Ocean Grill, the Prince’ restaurant, but the Resort itself was clean, in a picturesque location, and perfect for a relaxing vacation.

Resort has issues, but overall nice.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/02/09
We just returned from a week stay at the Prince and generally speaking, had a great time. There were a few issues, but the positives overshadowed the negatives. Let's start with the negatives. Check-in is a total nightmare. There are only a few parking spaces for registration and if they're full, you either wait offsite for a couple of hours or park in the parking deck across the street and haul your luggage about 200 yards without a luggage cart (because they are hard to find as well) to the elevator bank. To add fuel to the check-in debacle, only 3 elevators are present, so you have to wait in line for what seems like eternity. Just pray on the way that all 3 elevators are working, because when I arrived, one was down, which made the problem worse. Once you're moved into you're room and all 3 elevators are working, your stay will improve dramatically. Parking is a pain, because you have to park across the street, so running to the grocery store or starbucks is an ordeal and timely. You'll find yourself walking when possible. Check-out isn't nearly as bad as check-in, but do it early on the day of your departure. The location and rooms are excellent. The resort is within walking distance to the Cherry Grove business district (grocery and hardware stores, food and shopping). The view from the room is breath taking, which I enjoyed daily by sitting on the balcony for hours. For fishermen, the attached pier is nice, but be ready to shell out some cash because staying at the pier doesn't mean the price is included in your rent. The pools are nice, although a bit small and crowded, so we spent most of our time on the beach. Overall, I recommend the Prince. Just plan your trip and be ready for some issues. Take a deep breath, plow through the issues and have a great time. I'll visit again next year...

Worst ever
By david, 07/21/09
All i can say is i have vacationed in north myrtle beach for 20 yrs and this was the most discusting room i have ever stayed in!! There was dried blood on the walls and we asked to have someone come clean it and they never did. The carpet was so dirty we had to wear shoes at all times in the room because your feet would turn black from the dirt on the floors. There was stains all over the carpet and walls. The room smelled of dirt and the entire week we stayed there the carpet was swepted 1 time. The cleaning staff dropped of towels and took out the trash and thats it. We had to go down and take toilet paper out of the public restrooms!! The resort is fine on the outside, but the rooms are discusting! The only good thing about the resort was the beach itself. I would like to know if i stayed in a different hotel from those who have given this place a good review??

Wont Be back....
By Tac, 06/21/09
Parking is terrible, they have one garage that is located behind the oceanfront hotel you have to cross a street with your luggage ,the first 3 floors of garage are not even for guests,it is for the restaurant and pier. Elevators are slow and doors would sometimes not close. Staff not friendly. Free pier entrance was said to be part of a perk for staying there, not so, people at pier rude and yes you do have to pay. We had the Breakfast Buffet one morning, for $7.50 not worth it. The mushroom water feature for children do not work. I would not recommend this hotel. Staff not friendly. Maid service was skipped one day I called to ask for towels I was told that I should have put dirty towels on floor or they would not be replaced. They were on floor. Beds were terrible, pillow cases did not fit pillows. Our first and last stay.
