Customer Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/12/10
I just made reservations to stay at the hotel Feb. 1-3,2010 and my experience was not pleasurable. If this 5 minute experience in anyway reflects the type of customer service I can expect to receive when I arrive than my post stay comments will not be favorable.

Customer Service Training needed
By Aline, 12/21/09
But please do not depend on anyone there to act professional or provide real customer service. This begins with the VIP contacts to the buffet workers. My VIP Hostess service...needs training in customer service. I asked for 2 comp rooms for my party. She said they cannot do this. Fine. Give me the casino rate for the 2nd room. I asked for adjoining rooms. "Can't be promised." Ok fine. But ladies please let the customer hear in your voice or mannerism that you'll certainly try. Instead it is almost like everything is a problem and you offer no solutions! Get a job that doesn't involve customer service. Work in a factory!! Upon check in the clerk said "I can give you this second room .at no charge." We never even asked!!!!! Evidently my "offer code" indicated I could get another comp room. Shouldn't a VIP Hostess know this?? A person in my party..an elderly lady could not use her comp for her meal unless she WALKED all the way to the Comp area. The cashier said she couldn't call. Hello!! Shouldn't there be a seamless operation here where a person can take care of it for this elderly lady?? My interpretation of this was "NOPE lady you don't have what you need so you are punished. No comp for you lady. Next time you'll learn." The buffet was not so hot...literally. The waitress asked for our drink orders several times. If you are a gambler that can get to a casino where customer service is priority then run!! It certainly isn't Marksville.

THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/14/09
When I first started going to this casino and got my players card I would receive free rooms all the time. Now that I go on regular basis and always lose my money I can't even get a free room anymore. Everytime I call they tell me I haven't been their in this amount of time, or I haven't been their lately so I have to earn a free room. If losing 5 or 6 hundred dollars at this place everytime I go is not enough to earn a free room then I don't know what is.

Very unhappy!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/17/09
My husband and I have stayed in Marksville several times. But trying to book a room is ridiculous. I bought tickets for a concert then tried to get a room for convenience but nothing available per VIP. They so say put me on a list. I find it to be very unfair that more than one room is assigned to other guest. I feel my gambling monies should have just as much priority as other gamblers. I notified VIP that I will just take my gamlbing to other casions. But it seems that the workers at Maksville Paragon could care less. I have to stay at another nearby hotel; needless to say I will spread the word of my dissappointment.

Ignorant VIP services
By C.J., 09/06/09
I tried to use my coupon to get a free room and was told it was booked. I then went to the internet and found there were rooms available. I called back and asked if I booked the room on the internet if they would honor the coupon. I got a yes response from 3 people. I called back to make sure because I didn't want to be charged and was told no. These people need to get their stuff straight. It is not like I was trying to book a luxury suite, all I wanted was a simple room.

ALWAYS A GOOD TIME.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/25/09
MY HUSBAND AND I GO FREQUENTLY, ALWAYS RECEIVE A FREE ROOM, FREE MEALS, AND FOOD COUPONS. YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHICH MACHINES WILL PAY, I AM VERY SELECTIVE. THE STAFF IS AS GOOD AS ANY OTHER CASINOS, SOME BETTER, SOME WORSE. MY DRIVE IS ONLY ABOUT 2.5 HRS SO IS A VERY INEXPENSIVE TRIP. WE ALWAYS TAKE IN A MOVIE AS THERE IS A CINEMA LOCATED ON THE PROPERTY. HAVE NOT USED THE SPA, BUT IT APPEARS VERY NICE, PROBABLY PRICEY. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS THERE ARE A LOT OF KIDS AND THEY SEEM TO RUN WILD.BUT I ALWAYS TRY TO GET A ROOM ON THE TOP FLOOR, IS QUITE. THE MATTRESSES HAVE JUST BEEN REPLACED , WHICH WAS REALLY NEEDED.

What a waist!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/10/09
Room was $275.00 per night and no one would bring us a drink while gambling. This is the biggest waist of our money and time. There so dam cheap that they can't afford a drink.

Isolated
By ndn, 07/27/09
We travelled in from the Jackson Ms. direction and found NO signs or billboards advertising or directing us to the Paragon. Being first-time visitors to the area, we discovered there is no easy way to get there. Thank goodness for friendly locals giving directions along the way. All backroads. The Paragon rooms were nice, the staff friendly, and service good. The casino was larger than expected, but not very rewarding - except for the free drinks. Unlike most casinos, the smoke was not too bad..... and I'm a non-smoker who is very sensitive to it. We dined in the steakhouse and the Cajun place and the food was okay but, waay too expensive! The prices in the spa were too high, IMO. If you were a local, I would recommend a visit. But, its too isolated, costly, and limited to drive several hours to gamble for me.

pleasantly surprised
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/09
My husband and I went and stayed the weekend, the rooms were ok and we didn't win big, but I visited the spa and was so impressed. It has an upscale feel and I left feeling like a new woman! My massage with Misty was out of this world. We also ate at the the steakhouse but my favorite was Roxy's, good service and food. We will be returning as soon as possible. The only thing that was less than satifactory was the cigarette smell.
