Residenza Giotto, Florence

My wife and I stayed hear for three nights and we thought it was awesome. Our room was a large bedroom and had a small balcony facing the interior courtyard with a magnificent view of the Duomo, which meant that you are close and you can hear the 7:00 a.m. bells loud and clear. The picture in their advertisement is just the way it looks, except it is better in person. The service was good and the keepers were friendly and helpful. The breakfast is a coffee machine by the terrace (which provides choices of styles of coffees) and prepackaged croissants and other pastries/crackers and cereal in your room (with complimentary juice and milk in the mini-fridge in your room). Not great, but not terrible either, enough to get you around the corner to eat something more substantial if you so need. The shower we had was a “contraption” on the wall in the bathroom with another “contraption holding a current in a semi-circle around it, but the water came out hot and with good pressure. I could see someone complaining about it, but it worked fine and was not a problem for us, we found humor in the situation. We turned in relatively early every night and we were not disturbed by street or apartment noises. You are given keys to get in and out as you please and the location was most excellent. We would definitely stay here again.
