French Quarter RV Resort, New Orleans

While I normally like going to this site because of its location to the French Quarter, lately, they have upped the prices where it is too expensive to go. This weekend for the Jazz Fest they wanted $200 a night just to stay there. The policy seems to be that whenver there is a festival in or around Nola, they will charge an exhorbitant fee. Well guess what -- from April until October, there is almost a festival every weekend. It has gotten too expensive to go. Our trips to this place will be very limited.

Like: Location Dislike: Prepaid with credit card a month ahead for Jazz & Heritage Festival weekend, reconfirmed 48 hours prior to scheduled arrival, arrived on Thursday evening after driving 900 miles, and were told "sorry, we have no available spaces", Manager on duty had dilated eyes (like he was under the influence), said almost nothing, credited our credit card and told us to get off the property or he was going to call the Police. Called P............. Landing (another RV place nearby) got a space and was told we were the third RV that had called that day after being denied a prepaid space at FQRV. We are very glad we found the PLRV park because the spaces were bigger not as cramped in, the staff was helpful and they included a free shuttle to and from the festival.

Staff are very helpful and could answer all our questions. The resort is very clean and modern. Location, Location, Location. you can't beat it! We enjoyed 4 wonderful nights and hope to return next year. The pool, hot tube and gym are well kept and first class. I felt very secure at this location and did not hesitate to walk down to or from the French Quarters during the daylight hours. As with most cities now once the sun goes down take a taxi. Only cost 6 or 8 dollars for a trip to or from most parts of New Orleans. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.The I 10 is close to the resort but the noise did not bother us. Be sure to take a guided trip of New Orleans as the history is unreal. Loved the people of New Orleans they are on their way back from Hurricane Katrina. Was surprized to find out that the French Quarters escaped most of the damage. Food in New Orleans is worth the trip alone. Have fun!

Everything we expected and more. A bit pricey ($69/nite) but worth it. We showed up without a reservation @ 5am and were immediately greeted and signed in by a staff member. Superior location on north side of French Quarter. An easy walk to FQ and Riverwalk. We did it numerous times w/ 4 children ages 4 to 11. Nice clean facilities, helpful friendly staff. High speed internet (1100+kbps when I measured it) included in the price. We were of course concerned about crime having never before visited New Orleans; FQRV is very secure and attended continuously. We felt very safe. This will be our first choice for our next stay in New Orleans.
