Yougendo is a warm, welcoming guesthouse, situated in the very centre of the Kansai region.Large private grounds, immense wooden beams, wattle and daub walls, rice straw flooring and paper sliding doors make our house the perfect to place to capture a feel of the old Japan. Without the high rates or rules of a "ryokan".
A beautiful guesthouse in a great location. The staff are wonderful and the house has a great feel. Stayed in a western room which was very nice, and the rooms we had breakfast in were beautiful with views of a very zen garden. Very easygoing, only regret is that we didn't check out the bar! Thanks for a wonderful trip.
You get your moneysworth. This place has everything you need for a real Japanese experience but has a hostel feel. This place was the highlight of my trip.
Everyone should visit there while in Japan.
The people are lovely. The guest house has been beautifully restored and is very clean and comfortable. With a delicious breakfast you can tell this young couple run the place with love and care.
I was bowled over at the service and value for money this place offers. I was able to travel conveniently to Osaka (Universal studios) and Nara (Todaiji etc.) and come back a traditional Japanese home with all the mod cons that I needed. I would definately book this guesthouse on my future trips to Japan.
Yougendo is one of the most comfortable and hospitable experiences I have ever had. I wish I had come here at the very beginning of my trip around Japan. Leaving was very difficult. Thank you Chris and SHU, you do everything with love.
