Very nice resort! Uneven service
My wife and I just spent 2 weeks in the Presidential suite for our 10th anniversary. It was one of the most beautiful rooms we have ever stayed in! The resort was just beautiful, there were maintenance people replacing tiles, painting, etc every day to keep the place looking brand new, and the maintenance really shows, there was none of the usual resort rundown hallways or broken worn out furniture, everything was top notch!
If there is anything to complain about, it was that the service was uneven. Apparently only about half of the employees know that this is supposed to be a 5* resort. Most of them were completely professional at all times, but there were occasional issues with rudeness or incompetancy.
The Presidential suite was beautiful, but it is anything but private! The description on the website says that it's a rooftop penthouse suite, which we were really looking forward to. Unfortunately the roof that it's on is the main building, which is 2 story. On both sides there are 3 story buildings flanking the main lobby building, so the balconies of other suites are literally as close as 10 feet away from your 'private pool and verandah'. Same with the hot tub in the Presidential, it's walled in glass to give you a nice view of the courtyard and ocean, but unfortunately that means that you are on display for any room that's higher than you are, which is a lot. There are blinds you can close, but that negates the view.
Food was great, we mostly ate at the buffet but the Chef's Plate top restaurant was a nice experience, and the variety of food was good enough that we didn't get tired of it in two weeks.
The previous review is absolutely right that the beds are rock hard, they feel like stone tables with a few inches of cotton on top of them, not very relaxing after a long day of touring.
