Argosy Motel, Ormond Beach

If you are thinking of staying at this place, THINK AGAIN. My sister and I go to the beach every year for a few days. We are locals, my sister is in Volusia County and I am in Orange County. On our recent 1st and also LAST VISIT there were several issues. The 1st was the parking of the car. The website says you park by your door but that was not the case with us. We had to park 3 buildings away due to the fact that one of the buildings across from us had two vehicles. The 2nd issue was the fact that my sister was told that she could not sit and smoke outside the room that we were paying for because the guests in the adjoining room were non-smokers. The 3rd issue was when my sister’s son wanted to stop by. We only knew of him bringing one friend and the plan was to go to the beach. He ended up bringing 3 friends. These other 3 friends were not allowed to walk through the property to get to the public beach. We felt like the owner was very rude in his handling of this. He just came and bellowed out his rules which we were told nothing about previously and did not give us a chance to explain. This was also done in the common area by the pool so with the other guests around we were quite embarrassed. He also tried to suggest that the beach was private. We have had many visits to Volusia County beaches and this is the first bad experience. Hopefully it will be the last. Maybe this owner doesn’t need our business but you can bet we will tell all about our experience and did mention it to several guests before leaving.

My Husband Eddie and I just stayed 1 night wish we could have stayed longer . But we are going back in an few week.s to stay a few day,s very clean room quiet and you felt welcome. Helen May..

I was referred to the Argosy Motel and Greg and his family by a friend who has gone there for years. My father had just died the day before Father's Day and I needed a place to unwind and connect with God all by myself for a full week. I found the perfect spot and was left alone the entire time I was there except for the rare times I wanted company. When I needed prayer, the owner knew and spent time praying with me, on more than one occasion. Who does that? I spent much time in my room, on the beach and at the pool. I was blessed in ways unimaginable while there and just booked another stay for my husband and I for this upcoming Memorial Day weekend. God blesses those who are faithful to Him and the owners of the Argosy Motel are indeed blessed and a blessing to all who they come into contact with.

when you show up in Florida on your vacation to find bugs in your reserved room, all your hopes and dreams go down to the dumps. but, if my family never had this experience, we would never wound up at heaven on earth. The owner and his family treat my parents and I like his own family. In the past 7 years, we've started exchanging christmas cards and phone calls throughout the year to stay updated. Its the only thing i look forward to from the moment i leave on my last day till the time i pull in the driveway a year later. This is my home away from home, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

The Clark family, Argosy owners & operators, were gracious hosts who truly made us feel like we were part of a warm-hearted community. Our building was poolside and very close to the beach. The room was super-clean and spacious. We appreciate the motel staff's extra efforts during our stay at the Argosy and truly look forward to future visits.

My first time at the Argosy was in 1964. Been there many times in the 60's. Last time I was there was in 1993. Can't complain at all. Nothing but good times as a kid and an adult. I had to put 2004 as the year I last visited. I have been there so many times that I had to write a review. I still have a post card from the 60's with Leo in the photo.

Dislike? NOTHING. Like? EVERYTHING. Argosy cabins are always spotless, we get the friendliest service, personal attention to any details we feel are important to us, they are very accomodating, we find little notes welcoming us at ANY hour and room ready each time. We never had a bad experience there, only beautiful family memories of vacationing with our sons as they grew up. We have been there many times, it only gets better...it's like visiting old friends... CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK AGAIN SOON.

We are from Michigan and have stayed at the Argosy for 35 years. We have know the family and they are the nices people. What we like about the Argosy is that it is alway clean, clean,clean. It's our little bit of paradise.

I have been coming to the Argosy for over 30 years. My wife and I spent our honeymoon here and now have a son nearly 20 and a daughter 15 whom we have brought here nearly every year since they were born. We have no regrets. The service, hospitality, and lifelong friendships will always be cherished. We look forward to making many more memories.

No dislikes Stayed there 17 years in a row and never had a bad time or trouble with the service or rooms. Great private pool and rooms, great location.
