Sweet and Simple Get Away
By ,
The essence of a great camping experience is comfort, scenery and fun. We had all of these at Huckleberry Tent and Breakfast. The tent cabins had a comfortable queen-size feather bed with snugly down comforters. A wood stove (with all kindling and firewood provided) kept the chill off at night. The simple kitchen set-up made cooking dinner easy and enjoyable. Having privacy (unlike most campgrounds) made us feel like we were the only ones in the woods. There are only 3 tent sites and they are well separated. The home site is just a short walk through the woods and there you will find fresh vegetables in the garden, breakfast and some great conversation with the host, Tim and Christine. The host have bikes available and maps of the local trails. In fact, they have about everything you might need and there was never any additional charges for anything. The most enjoyable part of our vacation was all the thoughtful little touches. Forgot to bring a vital ingredient for dinner? No problem just ask the host. Need a special time for breakfast? Again, we just had to ask. The tent sites were simple yet sweet and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. If you are looking for something off the beaten path and appreciate outstanding personalized service, I would recommend Huckleberry Tent and Breakfast for a vacation spot.

Nice but not exactly a forest experience
By ,
We stayed 3 nights. First the bad stuff: Do not expect a forest experience. With the annoyinig sound of dogs barking (why do people just let their dogs bark for hours?) every evening (sounded lke a few different sources) and roosters crowing before sun up every morning it seemed more like tent camping in a farmer's field than a forest experience. In fact, with neighbors on nearby properties it is just like camping in a farmer's timber with a lovely view of a mountain and a great sighting of a moose. On the last day a foul odor became obvious around our camp -- not sure if it was out house or (I suspect) grey water related. Bring your own dish washing sponge - the one provided was well used and gross. I think the price was too high to have to listen to dog barking every evening and woken up before daylight by rooster crowing. For others this may be a delight.. The tents are nice and cozy. The bed was warm and soft. The service and support by the owners' is top notch (you need butter? just ask!). Ours was a family vacation with twin 5 year olds. The kids loved and having so much taken care of made this trip much easier than car camping.

~* Wonderful and Relaxing *~
By ,
Had a fantastic stay at the HTAB - only regret was that we did not plan on staying longer. Tim and Christine are awesome and gave us a great tour of the farm, including the chicken coop and the amazing garden. Be sure to make the breakfast at 8am for pancakes, farm fresh eggs, and sausage. The tents themselves are well placed, clean, comfortable and cozy! We had fires both nights and loved the kitchen facility. They make "roughing it" as easy as it gets. Also, hit up Christine for the best local dinner place in Clark Fork...a rack of lamb that rivaled any I've had in Seattle in tiny Clark Fork? Go figure. If you are looking for a wonderfully relaxing time with great food and a serene landscape, make it a point to stay here. ~ Jeffrey / Kerry

Sandpoint Camping
By ,
Wonderful. Friendly host, beautiful site, complete privacy. It was a complete camping experience without all the hassle. Tents were on wide plank floors, comfortable beds with quilts, woodstove and firewood, antique tables, chairs and trunks. A moose walked right through our camp site. A vacation we will always remember.

Luxury Camping
By ,
We had a queen size bed and a wood stove in our canvas tent. The host supplied everything we needed from a picnic basket to spices and cookware. It was like a luxury hotel with the smell of pine trees and some great pictures of a baby moose. I can't wait to go back again.
