One World Apartments, Florence

I booked a room in Florence through Orbitz and assumed this was a "hotel" located at 6 Montebello (as it lists as the address everywhere). But in fact: when we arrived at the address we were lucky enough to run into a backpacker who told us we (1) had to call the management office to let us in (2) she would come show us our apartment. So, we called the management office and they said we had to go to their main office location and pick up the key. When we arrived at the main office (after 20 mins of walking in circles only to find the office was 4 blocks from the other address), I then found out that we were staying in an "apartment", and it wasn't at the previous address. The address turned out to be a little bit better! a few blocks closer to the train and SMN church. I'm not sure where the other apartments are � but you may not be able to know what you get if you book through orbitz, so avoid that� book directly if you decide to. The apartment itself was really interesting! (Here�s where it gets good). The hallway of the building was a sort of cave-like feel - note - there are usually light switches you can turn on that stay on for a few minutes in hallways like this, look for them b/c stumbling up stairs with suitcases in the dark is hard! The apartment itself had 20' ceilings with hard wood beams, 2 living rooms, tons of couches and chairs, a washer/dryer, kitchen, full bath, 1/2 bath, wonderful windows etc. My complaints on the place: they didn't leave extra sheets for the couches (which I think one of the 4 is supposed to pull out?), there weren't enough towels, the furniture looked a bit scary too, and the bedspread on the bed was past the point of wanting to touch it even to remove it. More Advice: bring bug spray - there were mosquitoes (they may have been b/c we opened the windows earlier). When you get to the apartment office � stock up on water from their vending machine � it�s only 40 cents! =) and Gatorade is something like 80 cents. Location was close to attractions, but there's a neighboring restaurant that kept my companions up late - I slept a like a log both nights which is surprisng b/c I'm a very light sleeper. So, maybe bring some ear plugs too.
