Description

In 1910, this majestic 12-story office building was Oklahoma Citys first skyscraper and the first to have an elevator. In 2006, the Colcord building entered a new era after a $20 million conversion to create contemporary, luxury accommodations. The hotel is excitingly different, radiating with a modernized, stunning Art Deco feel in the lobby and hip, over-sized guest rooms. Sheathed in terra-cotta accented by ornamentation typical of the early 20th century, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. When it comes to Oklahoma fine dining, the Colcord is in the center of it all- starting with the hotels own, Colcord Cafe and Bar. Stunning hand-blown glass lighting, stylish furnishings and a noteworthy continental menu provide the backdrop for an impressive wine list, consisting of international and domestic selections. The restaurant with its inviting lounge atmosphere makes for the perfect pre-dinner as well as late-night hot spot. The Colcord Cafe and Bar serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday Brunch.Business-related amenities include complimentary wireless Internet access, a 24-hour business center and other services available. Meeting and conference facilities measuring 1825 square feet include conference rooms, banquet facilities, and meeting rooms for small groups. This Oklahoma City property provides a complimentary area shuttle. Colcord Hotel also offers a 24-hourfitness and business center as well as a 24-hour front desk. A total renovation of this property was completed in October 2006. Colcord Hotel is a smoke-free property (fines may apply for violations).

Best little getaway in OKC
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/3/11
Great place for a romantic getaway or to be honest, a business trip... Staff is great, Rooms are clean and fresh. Great historic buikding; restaurant was very good and fairly relatively reasonable, at least compared to Bricktown. Construction is a hassle but we'll be back when the noise stops.

WARNING: CONSTRUCTION 2009-2011
By Jason, 12/23/09
I took my girlfriend to this hotel in December 2009 to celebrate her birthday. I was surprised at beatuiful the hotel was and at how friendly the staff was, but it seemed odd that there wasn't more people there. After dinner, we went to our suite that is when it went wrong. Right next to the hotel is the construction for the massive Devon building with jackhammers and bulldozers. I called the front desk and they explained that the entire hotel heard the construction which last from 6am to midnight everyday. Sure enough at midnight they stopped and for six hours I got to sleep, but then at 6 am the jackhammers were back again. This would be one of the best hotels in OKC if it wasn't for the massive construction project next to it. So, I won't go back till the Devon building is finished in 2011.
