Windswept Motel, Point Pleasant Beach

A long time family owned place--always cleaned everyday--diligent employees. The beach is right there--a short walk to the motel entrance---its NOT 1/2 mile--it's a short walk!! Don't whine about it!! Go to Wildwood and walk a mile ON THE BEACH--just to get to the ocean. Spend your money in Point Pleasant--and stay at the Windswept---loosen up and have a nice time.

I stayed here last year and had a split day. Three days on the side and 4 days ocean front.The side room was not that great. The money though was in proprtion to what you can expect from experience at the Jersey shore. The side room was old, no refrigerator, and smelled. Although it looked clean. The ocean front was much nicer and more what I like to stay in.Unfortunately the dunes obstruct the ocean view for the better part on the 1st floor. The walk to the beach may not of been a 1/2 mile, but it wasn't close and it is a pain in the rear to say the least. The location of the Hotel itself is fantastic. The pool is kind of small, it was not crowded though and it was real neat and clean. The money they charge for what they get is good because other Hotels are definitely more money. If I was single and looking to impress someone I was taking I would not look to go here first. Great for a family, and great for me and my wife. Last year for the Hotel and spend money for my wife and I we went for $5,000.00 and had a good week, but not all out spectacular. I do not reccomend the jersey shore for those on a shoe string budget. I will look to stay @ Windswept again this year. If you want top of the line Driftwood Motel is very nice (also more money and difficult availability and I don't think much of the staff) I also understand White sands is very nice too, I have priced them and found them high in price and no availability the times I have tried them. from what I understand those 2 motels are probably the top 2 for singles and for those who are willing to spend more.

In all honestly, the Windswept is the best place on the Jersey Shore. You can not get better service anywhere else. As to the comment below I have to disagree completely!! There is no way the walk to the beach is a 1/2 mile. That is just absurd. The most you have to do is walk around the office to the end of the road, which is not very large. You do have to walk to the right but it is the same for the White Sands. And the Windswept does not lease from the White Sands. They both lease from the Point Pleasant Beach Club. As for the handicapped issue, if you mention something upon making a reservation, they do tell you that they are not wheelchair accessible. And if you mention it upon arrival, they do try to switch you to a larger parking spot. And as for the office staff parking in the handicapped spot, that should not be an issue. They will gladly move with they are needed to. They are not ignorant as you portray them to be. I have seen them do it many times in the ten years I've been coming. IF you want a great relaxing, CLEAN, family-oriented place to stay on the Jersey Shore, choose the Windswept Motel!

if you want to walk out of the motel and onto the sand that is right there, be ready to walk over 1/2 mile to get to the beach area. The motel leases the beach area from The White Sands so you have to walk past The White Sands to get onto the beach. This can be a chore if you are carrying chairs, umbrellas, coolers and other beach stuff. Also, there is one handicapped space for the entire motel parking lot. Each room has an assigned space but if you need to open your door wide due to being handicapped, forget it. And the one and only handicap space is taken each day by the front desk employees !! The location was great for the boardwalk. Reserve a room with the private balcony.

This is NOT a night club town BUT if you want to lounge around the beach, fish, go out for a meal it's fine. The rooms here are small but clean. No fridge so you might want to bring a cooler. Walk out your door to the beach they also have a built in pool that is small but not over crowed. Extra points for famlies with kids 4 to 14 just a few blocks from the amusement park and arcade city. Don't expect the Hilton but it's not a dirt bag motel either. Good value for the dollar. Good dinning in the area AND FISHING. Europa was excellent and the Shrimp Box was scenic and reasonably priced with average to good food. Not romantic nor for the spring break crowd, but for a 3 or 4 day laid back get away we'de stay here again.

Staff is very courteous and helpful. Rooms are very clean. Maid service is excellent. The location is great in that it fronts the south end of the boardwalk. Even the more inexpensive balcony rooms in the older section have a great view of the ocean. That makes these rooms a good value.

We have been going to the windswept for the last 24 years. The staff is fabulous, the rooms are clean and a short walk to the beach. What more could you ask for? I hope we enjoy many more summers there! It's always a pleasure.

The Windswept Motel was great. The rooms were spotless, staff was very helpful. Great pool and not over crowded or loud. The housekeeping staff went beyond for my needs.
