Wonderful family vacation spot.

Our family spent a week in Bryson City, North Carolina the summer of 2008. This is a great place to go if you want to get a way from everything and just relax in a nice homey place. The owner was great! She made us feel as if we were in our own home and gave us all kinds of tips on what to see and how to get around. We were there for the 4th of July and the fireworks were the biggest and best we have ever seen. We enjoyed breakfast on the front porch and watched the hummingbirds feed. We were about a 1/2 hour away from Cherokee so there was plenty of places to go if you wanted to see the sights. We went on the Great Smoky Mountain train ride and my dad loved it. We traveled the river and coutryside and saw a lot of pretty sites. We went to Maggie Valley's Ghost town in the sky and had fun watching the can can girls and gunfights. There is a great motorcycle museum in Maggie Valley called Wheels Through Time, they have a big selection of old time cycles and most actually run. They will even run them around for you in the museum once in a while. If you like places that are down hown, then check this place out, you'll be glad you did. Don't expect it to be fancy, this a country place made for families to enjoy.
