Maweni and Capricho Beach Cottages, Kwale

Just back from Maweni & Capricho cottages. We found the place after reading reviews online and must say we had a blast. The place is nicely isolated with no beach boys or vendors along the beach. The cottages are spacious and come furnished with basic kitchens. Got fresh fish from Amos a fellow who came about a small market by the cottages. the laid back approach was what i needed after nine months serving in south Sudan. highly recommended.

Well we did not stay here but did attend our friends wedding at the end of July this year. Well we had a wonderful time and worth noting the staff were great and very friendly and whole wedding ceremony super!! We spent the whole evening by the pool restaurant having fun and nice entertainment from the resident band. The gardens were amazing and ceremony by the cliff superp. We did not manage to get a room as all were taken by the wedding party, thus had the whole private beach to our selves. The hotel rooms looked pretty and spacious with great orange colours giving them a warm feel. Would love to stay here in my next travel. Greatplace.

Lovely laid back location to chill out and lazy about with no much activities other watch and listen to the seawaves. We were looking for a lazy place and found a perfect spot. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We forgot to buy cooking oil during our shopping but Iddi our room attendant was kind enough to sort us out including getting our fresh provisions every morning. The managers wife Carol was of great help as well, thanks for sorting out my daughter with the sea urchin relieve. see you next year team. Had a lovely time. Though service in the restaurant can be a little bit slow but the food quality great. Loved the 'garga prawns"!

I read the issue about the cats on this forum and almost cancelled my booking with them, but due to the fact that had made my reservation and did not want to disappoint my family we went ahead and stayed at maweni. Wish to say that the issue is over blown. we never had a cat menace at all. There are monkeys who come around but will only enter the cottage if you leave your door open. We stayed for a week and are definately going back our christmas holidays in cottage no. 1 Capricho.

We have just returned from a two weeks holiday at Maweni Beach. It was fantastics. We didn`t mind the cats because we have cats at home. We managed to keep the food from the monkeys by putting it in our suitcase. We had a marvellous time at the beach and the pool. The peolple working there were always helpful and nice. We almost had the place to ourself because there are not much tourists in the area at the moment. We didn`t have any trouble becasuse of the political situation.

We stayed in maweni beach cottages for a week, lovely views private beach, everything we hoped our holiday in mombasa would be, BUT they got these cats at night that get into the cottage wreck the kitchen, as i have an allergy for cats it made my holiday a nightmare, they said they couldn't do anything about it, we suggested they fill in the gaps btwn the roof, not much was done, i felt let down after the money we had paid we felt they could have done more.

We stayed at Maweni & Capricho beach cottages for a week last month. We initial were booked in for two days but ended up with a week. The place is lovely and lives to be a garden of eden . Very friendly staff,..........every one says jambo from the dirty gardeners to the fishermen on the beach. will recommend to any one running away from hotels and civilization.The food was lovely as were the drinks. The rooms are spacious but basic and clean.Maweni has its own private beach with no hustlers.....................beach boys.
