A few friends took me to this place for dinner - off the top the atmosphere and the location was a huge sell, perfect spot for after beach bite. Secondly, our serverAmelia was awesome, friendly, and super cool. Overall, the food had great taste and was was served right. I didn't order the chorizo poutine but I had a taste...I'm coming back to this place, crazy good.
Wow! My significant other and I happened upon Cocos as we walked down Main St.in Grand Bend.
First thing we noticed was the warm welcome by a beautiful hostess - the rest of the service was friendly, helpful giving explanations of items on the menu.
After extensive travel through out Southwestern Ontario, it's good to see a place bringing in some new cultural food and good place to hang out. BTW we had the blue cheese burger and jerk chicken wrap, it was fantastic.
The menu is reasonably priced offering summer salads, wraps, burgers, pizza.
Had a delicious and affordable dinner at Cocos.
Definitely will be back.
The “owner” is the most unprofessional and disrespectful person I have ever dealt with. I was trying to make a reservation and she later refused my reservation because I questioned the price online versus her increased rate over the phone. There were many words exchanged on her behalf which is inappropriate and very surprising considering she is the owner. I had been there previously for lunch and I do agree with other reviews that this place is horrible and I do not recommend it to anyone. There are a number of other friendlier and more appealing places that accomadate. Grand Bend is such a beautiful place, it’s such a shame that this place is not as nice!
four of us picked this place and ended up regretting our decision. although the interior looks cool with interesting decor and comfortable seating like leather sofas and chairs, etc, the service, food and way they price something and say its another is awful.
we order mixed drinks from a single priced card with specials sitting on the table and at the end when we got our bill they were all priced differently. they over charged on liquor tax. we also ordered a cheeseburger and fries which wasnt bad, and additionally a coconut shrimp appetizer and deep fried pickle spears. the coconut shrimp was burnt and lacked coconut flavor and had a sauce that seemed toxic to my tastebuds. the deep fried pickle spears were burnt on the outside and cold inside. at the end of the meal when we got the bill and questioned the price variations on the drinks that were all suppose to be the same according to the drink specials menu, the server seemed perplexed and had no clue why. she said she doesnt make the bill, someone else did. we then asked her if she could find out why who ever made up the bill put diff prices for the drinks but she seemed unwilling to find out at first and just wanted us to pay. this bothered us. after much talking back and fourth and confusion she brought over someone who was supposedly the "manager". they were very unwilling to help us understand why one drink was on price and one was another when the drink menu said they were all the same price. Why were we paying more than the price they advertised? according to our calculations they were also overcharging on liquor tax. so the manager wasnt very helpful and said she would not change the pricing because we read it wrong although we did not actually read it wrong, perhaps they printed it wrong.
so we payed and did not leave a gratuity because the service was awful and we overpaid. this place is a tourist trap... the only thing this place has going for them is the decor and good looking servers, the food is overpriced and poor...
This place was perfect for what my boyfriend and I were looking for. Young & Vibrant and so close to the beach. The room was very clean and was equipped with freesing cold a/c. We would definitley stay again!!!
What we liked: we thought it looked like it was going to be a fun place. What we got: was cold food, crappy service, dirty utensils and over priced. Other than that it was terrible. Head down he street, near the beach, is a much better place to eat. Avoid this place. NFG!
