Swiss Hotel Kashmir, Srinagar

I had booked on the internet and our rooms were available when we arrived. It’s a great location, right in the heart of tourist area and very quite... always hot water. After a month in India and Nepal this was a treat to stay here - the rooms are neat and clean with spotless bathrooms. Super friendly staff and easy to meet fellow travelers there. Not fancy but good value.

Owners: really nice people that do a great job of keeping the rooms clean and have a friendly attitude. Appearance: Really cute place with nice landscaping. Room: Really Decent as far as Indian standards neat and clean. Extras: There is always fresh coffee (or tea) and a nice conversation waiting for you at the front desk. They were helpful with planing daily activities and even let me take over the front desk to map out our day trip! Ideal location, welcoming, clean, comfortable, affordable, a place to feel at home away from home....it has it all.

Stayed their with a friend (two different rooms)March 27th 2009. For 7 nights and had a wonderful time there. Although I am travelling a lot I have seldomly stayed over at such a great place: The rooms are decent and modern, very stylish, but yet very cosy; staff is always friendly and helpful, location is great: it's located in a very quiet street (so absolutely no noise at night) which surprisingly lays in the middle of Gagribal Road, with all its restaurants, , shops and whatever you feel up to. City Center and lake are just less than 5 minute walk away. And last but not least: it's got a great price compared with other hotels in the same category.

We had stayed at Swiss Hotel during 14-Feb and 19-Feb. Our trip was perfect just because the hospitality that we were offered by the Swiss team. If you want to enjoy Kashmir, SWISS is the only commission free place to stay, you will find out why it a HOME AWAY FROM HOME!......... The hotel had all kinds of accomodation ranging from a single bed to a family room. The service staff is excellent, the respect and warmth, they offer........i bet, is never offered at any other hotel in Srinagar. The location of the hotel also makes it a nice place to stay. Just 100m from Dal lake, at the foot of sankaracharya temple hill. One more interesting fact, there is a kitchen to cook your own food! If you want a perfect trip to the paradise on earth, SWISS is the place to stay.........at a reasonable price and hospitality, free from agents and commissions. We hired an INNOVA for our whole trip, that too a fortune, we had found a gentleman(the owner of the vehicle). The hospitality and the way he elucidated the beauty of kashmir, We really enjoyed the paradise because of the hospitality shown. Never be misguided by the security situation in kashmir, its all politics and nothing else! Most of the people in kashmir rely on tourism for bread and butter. You can find it out when you talk to the Pony wallahs at PAHALGAM/SONMARG. No more words.........its all memories that i had carried from the trip. SWISS hotel...thank you very much...........and wish the very best!

Surely was one of the best hotels that I ever stayed in India. Very cheap and a large number of rooms with very clean bath rooms. Should have a swimming pool !!!!!

Swiss Hotel was the best hotel that we ever stayed in India. According with the India standards no hotel comes close to Swiss Hotel in its location, friendly staff and prices. The huge green lush garden adds to its attraction. Own private parking. What else a visitor like me wants when you are traveling in India with your own bike. Definitely I would recommend this wonderful place to other travelers passing by.

We travelled to kashmir in the month of June 2008. Stayed at Swiss Hotel which was recomeded to us by a traveller in Ladakh. Definitely we will recomend this hotel to all the travellers who pass by..... Cheap price, nice and clean rooms and wash rooms,big green garden in the front of hotel and a big free parking lot.

Surely one of the best hotel in whole Kashmir. Its a commission free place which enables all the back packers to relax and feel good as no worries of their hard earned money spended on commssion. Plus warmth of hospitality of Swiss hotel in kashmir. Hot showers free internet, a huge garden full of greenery and a big parking space + breakfast free what else does a backpacker need ? I hate electricity coming and going though in Swiss Hotel they have generator but televisions cannot work on generator power its only for lighting.

Staying in the Swiss hotel was one of the highlights of travelling in India. Clean rooms, hot showers, reasonable room rates and most of all, hospitable and friendly hosts. We would definitely recommend it and Kashmir as a destination in India. Forget the houseboats, Swiss hotel is the best.
