The BayShore Resort Hotel on Put-In-Bay Island offers the only waterfront hotel rooms on Put In Bay. Two swimming pools, jacuzzi and tiki bar at the hotel. Standard hotel rooms and suites. Golf cart rentals on the premises.
The staff was rude and vey nosey. If you are looking for privacy this is not the hotel for you! The staff eavesdrops and calls security for everything we even saw staff peering in sliding glass doors on first floor!!! We closed doors and curtains left the next day! If ran properly it has a lot of potential but the creepy in your business staff ruined it.I believe they were also in our room when we were not there we had a bottle of wine from the winery in our luggage we went to dinner and then came back to room to have some wine about twenty minutes after we returned from dinner security was banging on room door and also peering in patio door like we were violent criminals. We were told no other alcohol but what was served at hotel. How did they know about wine and that we were drinking it?We are a 26 years married couple looking to get away and have some quiet time, but we were swarmed by security for drinking legal alcohol that was bought at their local winery.I would never tell any one to go there.
Everything, except the restaurant was wonderful! (it's pricey and not great - much better eating downtown and near the winery) If you want peace and quiet after a day of noisy craziness downtown, this is the place! And it's only a couple of minute's walk to downtown.(my 82 year old mother walked it) Never heard our neighbors, and even kids weren't a problem. Loved our porch - sat on it a lot on our 3 day trip! A great place to enjoy a good drink from the Tiki Bar if you don't want to drink there. Rooms are large (biggest bathroom I ever had in a hotel) and clean. Staff was very nice and helpful. The only place to stay on PIB! Worth the $175 during weekdays. I would go back in a heartbeat! Lynn
Way overpriced they charge 5 star hotel prices and have very rude staff members. Restraunt charges ten dollars for breakfast for a greasy plate of bacon and eggs. The water view was nice but not worth $240.00 per night.
bay shore has it all great locatinon great rooms with screened in balconeys pools jacuzzi tiki bar on the water no need to go to town for food just eat at there own resteraunt watch the pools turn different clors at night going back for labor day weekend cant wait.
Before you stay at the BayShore you should ask yourself what kind of experience you are looking for on PIB.
If you are going to "the bay" to relive your college drinking days(or continue them if you're still in college) then the BayShore is not for you. The hotel is a little bit of a walk from downtown, not a bad walk to a sober person, but could be a haul to a blasted partier at 2am. Another thing going against the party crowd is the hotels policy ban on bringing in your own Alcohol. This rule even includes wine you purchase at the local winery(they will hold it in the office till you check-out).
If you are looking to stay at a very clean, newer hotel that gives you a tropical feel in the middle of Lake Erie, then Bayshore is for you. All the rooms in the place face the water, and all have a balcony that is screened in to help with the bugs, that can get pretty bad on the lake. The pool looks very nice (too cold to swim when we were there) and the staff was very friendly.
Our only complant is the 3pm check-in that they will not bend on even if the rooms are ready. We came off season on a Friday, and the hotel was empty, and they still would not check-us in till the clock said 3.
But that aside we had a nice stay, and would suggest BayShore to anyone looking for a relaxed place to stay away from the party crowd.
We just got from a 3 day stay at this hotel. It was the best hotel I have ever been to. The view was spectacular, the staff was friendly, the room was clean. I couldnt ask for anything more. I don't know why anyone would want to stay anywhere else on the island, this place has it all. I hated to leave and can't wait to go back!
