Cabins of Gatlinburg, Gatlinburg

We had a wonderful vacation!! The cabin was great! View was breathtaking and we appreciated all the upgrades! We will definitely recommend your cabins to our friends & family.

Douglas Lake Hideaway cabin was great. Clean and well maintained. The kids like it alot. My husband and I enjoyed the upstairs bedroom It was private and quiet. We can’t wait to come back this summer with my husbands family. Thank You

The cabin was out off Wears Valley Road. I was told it was on a level road and easy to get to. After they took the total payment on my credit card, I recieved directions to find out it was up several steep roads. We got there and found out the water had alot of sulfur in it and was undrinkable. The jacuzzi didn't work and the gas fireplace wouldn't come on half of the time. We didn't bother calling as we didn't want to have to wait around for repairs and didn't want someone coming to the home while we were gone. As our personal belongings were there. We were desperate for accomodations as we didn't look for them until late. My husband's mother had passed away and I really wanted him to have a restful and peaceful vacation.

The only reason this gets 1 star is because I had to select something in order to post my opinion. In all actuality it deserves-5 stars. My family and I arrived at "Among the Pines" to a horrible stench, cracker crumbs scattered throughout the cabin, hair in the down stairs bathroom, bugs as well as a dirty ring around the jacuzzi, mildew surrounding the outdoor hot tub, no working smoke detectors, and the list goes on. We arrived at 7pm, so I attempted to contact the office @ 10am the next day (when they supposedly open for the day)...I tried 3 different numbers before I even got an answering machine. So, of course I left a message (@10:45am) stating that some issues needed to be resolve. By 1pm I had not received a call back, so I made other accommodations. Needless to say, I was forced to vacate the premises by 1:45pm due to deplorable conditions. I am not a wealthy woman, and this was my family’s yearly vacation. I am outraged that I spent the first day seeking out better accommodations after being let down so disappointingly by Cabins of Gatlinburg. In all honesty, I can only blame myself for not researching this company before handing over my credit card information and making a reservation. Buyer beware, there is a reason why there are NO USER REVIEWS on any of their websites. My only recourse now is to fill a claim with my credit card company. DO NOT MAKE THIS SAME MISTAKE!!!! Pay a little more and rent from someone else who is confident enough to put reviews on their website.

We were actually upgraded to "New Dawn" b/c of repairs being done w/ the cabin I rented. Needless to say the cabin was very nice in appearance but I am much more pleased when the little details have been tended to. The picture showing on the website showing the front of the cabin (I thought) was of the cabin at the front entrance. That was the 1st dissapointment. The policy states that the hot tub was drained after every renter, however my son got in to find caps to beer bottles IN the hot tub. Every time I used the stove top, the timer on the stove would beep constantly until the stove cooled. The sink seemed to be trying to clog up. We get up one morning to find that the owner hadn't paid the satellite bill and there was no channels available except for infomercials and the only way to get it fixed was to be at the cabin and call the office w/ a number from the box. Really, I didn't take a vacation to sit and wait on repairs to be done before I can leave and enjoy a day of outings. Now I will say that the cabin was a great size and we had a great time but when I pay this amount of money for a week of vacation, I don't want to have to deal w/ problems. I'm sure this may have been just a one time thing but I wouldn't rent there again.

We planned a getaway with our family and friends. When we arrived at our cabin, Among The Pines, we were disappointed that the rugs had not been swept, the trash was full on the back porch, the counters were dirty and there was a dirty wash cloth in the bathroom. We decided to go ahead and tough it out because it was late. That evening after the upstairs shower was used, we realized there was a leak into the downstairs bathroom. I called that evening and left a message, which stated the office hrs. were 10-5. Upon going to bed we found many black hairs in one bed and mud on the sheets of another bed. The downstairs garden tub had tile broken off and shove under the sink. There were only 4 towels for a cabin that slept 6. And we had to purchase our own toilet paper, paper towel and dish soap (even though the policy was that we had to wash dishes before departing). We also found food from the previous vacationers in the fridge. I called the Cabing of Gatlinburg office the next morning and left two messages. We didn't hear anything back from anyone and decided to find other accomodations. Someone finally called back at 1:30 and left a message that I needed to call them back right away if I wanted them to take care of the problem. I contacted them back at 3:00 and again received the answering machine. I called again the next day and finally got through to the manager. She was very short with me and told me that they do not issue refunds. She was unwilling to work with us at all and basically blamed me for not getting a hold of them! Needless to say, we did not receive any refund and ended up spending our fun money on other accomodations. I will NEVER stay with Cabins if Gatlinbug again.
