A full service hotel in the heart of Downtown Whitehorse, Yukon. We offer clean, quiet and affordable accommodations. We are within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, and tourist attractions. Don't pay more for less, pay less for more at the Stop In Family Hotel !
Good hotel for business travelers doing an overnight in Whitehorse for next morning early flights. Rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and accomodating. The rooms need a little work, but for an overnight place to crash it works fine for the money.
It was a very nice, clean room and turned out to be quiet. The owners were very nice and hospitable as well. We weren't there late enough to have used the restaurant but will the next time we come through and will stay here for sure. The other hotels and motels in town were way too expensive. Besides they were all booked up. We didn't make reservations as we didn't know we would be in Whitehorse for the night having left from Wasilla Alaska that morning. Haines Jct didn't have any thing available either. So we were glad to get this room.
This place was horrible (although it was recommended by the Visitor's Center people). Our room was dingy and reeked of cat pee. There were holes in the box spring also. When we complained to the front desk they told us "Sorry, but no refunds." We left disgusted and angry.
This lodging was advertised with air conditioning. There was none to be found. Even with the cooler outside temperatures, our room was over heated and there was a floor fan we hooked up at 3 am. The pillows were very uncomfortable. We found the previous room guests used coffee filter and cups in the ice bucket! When we told the desk clerk at check out about this, she said that they had been very busy. At $119 per night I would expect more. We were so tired the next day. Our requested wake up call came in an hour late.... Rooms are not very large. Don't stay here... not worth it.
My family and I stayed at the Stop In Family Hotel on July 23, 2007. This is a relatively low-key family-run property. We had checked a few other places and found the rates to be expensive. Family Hotel was the cheapest so we decide to stay. We were presently surprised to have a clean room in a quiet hotel. We had wireless internet, and the beds were really good. We slept like babies. The other thing I liked was the good water pressure on the showers. We were refreshed and ready to hit the road to Alaska.
This was the first place I checked, because the Visitor Reception Centre said it was one of the less expensive places. When they told me the rate at the hotel, I was shocked. I then checked out several other places in town, and quickly discovered Whitehorse, in general, is expensive. I ended up taking the room at the Family Hotel, since they were still cheaper than the rest. Normally, a place like this I would not expect to be that expensive, but I guess in Whitehorse overpriced room rates are the norm. Family Hotel is the cheapest and relatively clean, though, If you are on a tight budget this might be an option for you.
