The Red Hut Inn, Belize City

My husband and I were supposed to go to Belize in June however we had to cancel because of the hurricane. I contacted the Red Hut Inn to cancel our two-night reservations. They told me that because I called the day before they were only able to refund me one-night's stay. I agreed to this since it's their rules. Since then I have contacted the hotel's owner JULIA on numerous occasions asking her to refund my money. SHE STILL HAS NOT AND IT'S BEEN SIX MONTHS! I'm terribly upset with the lack of service I have received and warn other travelers to be wary of dealing with these people. They do not comply with their own rules and if you need to cancel you will most likely never see your money!!!

1. not clean 2. a single wrinkled sheet on bed; a second sheet not allowed 3. dirty dishes in room 4. ants on floor 5. not a pleasant experience 6. no nearby place to eat

the inn is located in a residential area, feels like you are away from the bustle of the city, yet within walking distance of most of whatever you may need. the hosts are wonderful, eager to please, and willing to accomidate any resonable requests. i had a great 2 days stay with the wonderful surprise of great wine and unexpedted culinary experience. the hosts were eager to please-they even provided transport to airport to pick up a friend and then transported us to the boat dock. could not have imaged a warmer reception and "family feel."

This is a nice little place to stay for over night or use as a base to travel out to different part of country. It is a really nice and quiet. We stay for our very last night leaving Belize, and we had a great rest there, and as we have read other ppl's review about The Red Hut Inn, it is so true. You can really get a really good night rest there. It is so quiet at all time. For the price they offer it is for great value. SO I would recommend it for sure! If you ever to stop in Belize City, for over night or extended stay, The Red Hut Inn is the place! Chris & Alice

The Red Hut Inn is a great little place to stay f you are looking for a good sleep and relaxing mood. The rooms are studio like, you have your sitiing area with sofa and coffee table, with AC, cable tv. Private bath. It is very comfortable like home, no wonder their slogan is where everyone feels at home, and that is so true. The room is alwasy quiet, and the area is so safe, due to it is a residential area, and very up scale neighborhood. Supermarket and resturants is waling distance like abotu 5-10 mins away. They do have a small kitch for the guests to use, and once you are staying for a longer time, then you should take theri suits, it comes with the fridge so you can store all your food and water in your room. The price is great for what you are getting. IN the office, they have basics you need such as bottel water, juices and sodas for sell. Because they are off the road that is why you get the no noise at all. The area are so safe we dont have to worry about anything at all. The owners, Julia and Lewis (wife and husband) they are a great couple. They are very attentive to the needs of the guests. Definately recommend the place to toursts who is looking for a deal and comfort. June & Kevin

The Red Hut Inn, really lives up to its reputation, we planned the trip to Belize and looking around and see the price they offer, and also the comments that previous guests who had stayed before, they gave very good reviews so we decided to go and stay there. And as I said they live up their name for sure, all the guests were right about the place. And while we were there, we had a great time with other guests there too, cause with the large patio in the evening we stay out there and hang out, and one night, Lewis and Julia (owners) were having BBQ and invited us along, and we met their friends and it was great. Anyhow make story short, it was a great stay there, will stay there when I go back in Jan, 08 for sure.

It is a great little gem in the hide away. It is in a really nice residential area, and close to the sea. In the evenings, on the deck, you get to see the birds flying home. Nice Breeze in the morning and evening. food is near by, or you can requests from the hosts, they will personalized for you if you wish. Luis is a great cook for sure. We took bus to go downtown and it was easy enough. Trish is a great company for conversation. Over all everything was what we expected and the price and the service is worth it.

It was very nice and relaxing. For the price and service it is what we were looking for. Just a little place for us to relax and rest before we take the flight home!

This is a small inn that operated by the locals. The owners are very friendly and helpful. As long as you ask, you shall get what you ask for, if not they will do whatever they can do make it happen. The room is so comfortable for its price. We loved the stay and plan to come back next year. Definitely will recommend this to friends and families.

It was a very nice stay over the Red Hut Inn. We had a great time there. It was a small and homey little inn. It was very welcoming to be there. Quiet and comfortable.
