Sleeping with cockroaches
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/31/11
Location of the hotel is fantastic, right next to the shopping centres. The room is a reasonable size for a family of 3 adults, 1 child and 1 infant. On the surface, the laminated floor room looks very clean. However, we returned from dinner at 8pm to find tons of mini-sized cockroaches running about. We had to grab the only chair and elevate all our bags one on top of the other. Start stomping the floor in attempt to kill the roaches. My little girl was screaming on top of her voice pointing us to this and that direction... At the end of 15 minutes of chasing, we managed to kill 8 of them....

pleasant
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/23/10
a good place to stay, right in the heart of Melaka town, close to almost everything. The staff also quite friendly and reliable...clean room and bathroom, the best thing is the valet parking, very useful for those needs to travel around by car cause it would be impposible to park anywhere near the hotel. the only disadvantge is my room didn't have a window, wish the staff would inform me this when I made the booking...a bit claustrophobic...

Value For Money
By Joseph K, 3/24/09
Fenix Inn is strategically located at the heart of the city with all the tourist attractions , restaurants & food courts within walking distance and there are 2 shopping malls nearby, Mahkota Parade and Dataran Pahlawan Megamall. The room rate is also affordable, RM98/- nett per room per night without breakfast. Although the room is small but is clean and pleasant to stay. For those who drive, your car is parked in a private car park and there is car jockey who will take good care for you so that you can ease your mind and enjoyed your holiday. The counter staffs are friendly, polite, helpful and courteous. For those who are budget conscious, I strongly recommend this hotel as it is value for money.

Very affordable and Strategically located
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/21/07
I was there a few weeks ago, and i really like the place. It's affordable, and Fenix Inn is strategically located. EVerywhere is walking distance. The staffs are friendly. We were in need of a taxi and the receptionist called for us. The taxi arrived in 5 minutes and dropped of us to Jonker Street. He told us he could come to pick us up if need be. We called and he came to pick us up and drive us safely to the hotel. I would recommend this place to my friends.

worth the value...
Been to Malacca a handful of times and stayed in a few hotels. Would say for value this is the best option. Located at a decent place with food and mall nearby. Car is protected by valet. Have recommended to a few friends and they love it as well. Best value for money!!

Great value for money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/10/07
Went there last december, the room was a tad small but can't really complain for the RM88 we paid. Wht's more important was that it was clean and the car jockey who took care of our car really eased my mind. One slight complaint though -- perhaps the counter staff could be better trained and less frigid. Also, it would be really nice that the place (well, at least the common areas on the upper floors)is smoking-free. Overall, a great choice. Iill go back before the building runs old.

just the perfect place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/14/07
fenix inn is a budget hotel and i must say it's worth every cent you pay. if your main concern is cleanliness, rest assured that your room will be clean and pleasant to stay. i particularly like the location of this hotel as it is situated exactly at the heart of the city. tourist attractions are aplenty and within walking distance, and i mean walking distance.as it is a budget hotel, you dont normally expect any sort of services like room service. but credit must be given to its friendly and polite staff. it's a perfect place for travellers!

strategic location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/13/06
I went there last month during my business trip. This hotel located at the most happening place in melaka. I can walk to 2 melaka shopping malls and also to the A'famosa & other historical places. The price is RM88.00 nett without breakfast. There is lot of restaurant & food court around the hotel. The room is really clean & nice for this price. Worth for money.
