Not worth the money
Upon arrival we were met with a beautiful view of the main ranch house. We followed the signs to the registration area. Three people were in the registration room "working". They all glanced at us but continued "working." So, I finally asked "Is this where you check in?" We got the impression that we were "interrupting" their work when in reality, this is where you checked in! Very awkward. Instead of feeling welcomed, we felt like we were interrupting them. John briefly showed us around and explained how to sign up for the horse back rides. He also told us that he could not guaranty that we would get our 2 rides per day. Of course, this was not explained to us before we made our reservations - but after we arrived. I don't mind inclemental issues with not being able to ride, but because of too many people on a ride is not good enough. They needed to either have more time slots or more riders during the rides - not just "sorry" we don't have space for your to ride.
Next the cabin was TINY for 5 people and the bed was like sleeping on a rock it was so firm. The floors had not been swept so you could not walk around barefoot. The toilet did not flush well and the bathtub kept getting backed up. No clean towels on the second day and not enough towels for a family of five. We were given 4 towels for a family of 5.
The food, however, was great! I cannot compliment the chef/cooks enough. From breakfast, to lunch, to dinner to desserts, the food was amazing!
The people that run the ranch were not friendly or welcoming. They always seemed put out.
The late afternoon/night ride wranglers were a lot of fun. The morning wranglers were very standoffish - bored - going through the motions but not interested type of wranglers. The horses were great and very well trained. A couple of instances where the horses were put to the test to remain calm and they did. Very impressed with the horses.
The money spent for the services we received was not worth it. The only redeeming qualities of the ranch were the food and the horses.
We won't be back.
