White Sands Ocean Front Resort, Pt Pleasant Beach

We are a family of four and with a wedding in town we stayed one night. At the 3:00 pm check in we were told the room wasn't ready. We got our keys 40 minutes later. There was a yellow stain on one of the bed's sheet and the bathtub was filthy. At 3:00 am we were awoken by people drinking and smoking on the balcony (Note, you have to sign an agreement at check-in stating there is no partying on the premises). I had to call the front desk asking someone to come request that they return to their rooms. In the morning our daughter woke with a stomach bug. We asked to check out at noon, instead of 11:00 am, so she could sleep. We were told no, the hotel was booked and we had to get out. At $355.00 per night there was no semblance of service, cleanliness, or a welcoming environment. Do not waste your time or money!

I have a company event and reserved 16 rooms back in February. I called back in March, and they had somehow "lost" my reservation. I re-placed the reservation and I called again to confirm the reservation 3 days prior to the deadline, and they told me everything was good to go. I offered to pay early or leave a deposit, and they told me that wasn't necessary... I called the day before the event to confirm, and they somehow "lost" the reservation, again. It's the day before my company's event and I'm scrambling to find another hotel that can possibly accommodate 16 rooms and it looks like I will have to cancel my company event...16 families that will be upset...I don't know how this can possibly happen. Never doing business with them again.

Hotel situated in a convenient location. Walk distance to boardwalk and other attractions. Also the hotel has two outdoor pools, an indoor pool, private beach, gym, children corner, cafe, restaurant and spa. All this is undoubtedly a big plus for this hotel. I was disappointed in the standard rooms. Equipment was not upgraded for sure here in 10 years! I missed the breakfast, which is at such a high price should be included in the stay. I paid $1000 for a weekend of 2 nights! In my opinion, this stay was worth up to half that price! Sorry:(

The room was basically clean and conveniently located near the weekend wedding we attended. However, the staff is arrogant and dishonest. The bride/groom left gift baskets for those staying at the hotel. The hotel staff didn't distribute about half of the baskets even though the bride left extra basets they (and guests) were told that no baskets were left -- but half the guests didn't even get them. The bride/groom hosted a breakfast the next day but half the guests didn't know about the breakfast because the invitation was in the baskets that magically disappeared-- but the hotel restaurant charged the bride/groom for all of the 'expected' guests for breakfast (72 people) even though less than half of that number was actually there. On top of that I left an item behind. Magically it was not found-- even though I called within hours of discovering it was left. Other guests who attended the wedding left items behind and the standard answer that they got from the front desk staff and the arrogant housekeeping manager was 'nothing was found...sorry." The housekeeping manager is full of himself and unprofessional. The front desk woman kept complaining that she didn't understand what was going on with the computer. Also, the housekeeping manager said something about watching the tape to see if the item that was left behind was removed from the room during cleaning....WHAT TAPE?? Do they have a video tape in the room? How scarey is that! STAY AWAY from this place. There are nicer places. White sands is NOT ocean front..the hotel is across the street...it's not a bad location but it's no more than a 2-star hotel with poor service and dishonest, arrogant staff.

Had a pedicure for 65.00. The girl was very unprofessional. Eating in the same room while my feet were soaking. Then when she wrapped my feet as a special treatment, she ate smoked whiting! She also was reading her new computer book. She said she worked there for 12 years! Went down to use the sauna. Didn't work. The pool had hair floating in it and a used band aid. Very dirty. Won't return.

Pros and cons ..Ants in room,shower very small ,ocean view has power lines running through view,wall has vibrating noise all night .Pool area exhaust fan from kitchen was making so much noise,terrible(would of been nice to have some music by the pool instead) The food was good but expensive. .The one thing the white sands has is convienience to the beach and boardwalk.

I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. It was extremely dirty and beyond over-priced!!! This was my first visit here and will never come back. I've visited other hotels along the way hoping to switch but unfortunately there were no vacancies. Judging from quality, the Sand Pebble right down the street was the same quality and more than half the price!! I paid $350 at the White Sands and the Sand Pebble is $179. Personally, I would prefer a different area all together because the entire area of Pt Pleasant is looking more and more like Seaside Heights. It's worth it to venture a trip to Cape May, Ocean City, or even Wildwood. More north, Long Branch would be a better pick for upscale quality (Ocean Place or Bungalow Hotel). They did not turn on the heater for any of their pools, there was dirt and TOXIC MOLD throughout the building, the carpets in the room smelled, the air condition was leaking, beds were extremely uncomfortable, my room was practically on a slant, the noise from the parties at night were excruciatingly loud. It's like a trash motel and they just put on the "resort" name to over charge you for slum!!! I asked to leave due to all the problems and they refused. Some customer service!!!! They basically shunned me away and did nothing to try and resolve any of my concerns. On top of the above, No beach chairs as promised, cops were at the hotel with a guest complaining of stolen property when we arrived, it was mayhem! DO NOT STAY HERE... COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!

So my niece gets married on the beach across the street from the restaurant. Had words with someone from the staff and her Assistant who told my fiancee she couldn't get her fired trying to get on the beach. In the reception, the food and drink were fine, except the employee who "blew up" the only 'public' bathroom which was small to start with (think they would have an employee bathroom?). Once the cake came out, around 10PM, the wait staff was way over zealous in cleaning off the tables. They were reaching around grabbing, touching plates with food that were not supposed to be cleaned off. Barely could get any coffee, no seconds and if your hand wasn't on it they were trying to take it away. Come 11:00 and party over, not 10 minutes passed and they shut the lights off in that part of the dining area while the Grandparents of the bride were sitting there, forcing them to move. Maybe 10-15 minutes later as people were saying goodbye to the bride and groom by the bar (11:25-11:30 and the parents were still gathering belongings and packing the car) the bartender shut the lights off in that area for about 1 minute on the bride and groom are saying goodbye to the guests. Read- Please leave. I just can't believe an employee had the balls to basically kick out the the newlyweds and last few guests. CLASSLESS! Needless to say we all felt very unwelcome, pissed off and this place will NEVER see another dollar from any family event. They just don't understand the hospitality apsect of a reception.

I was expecting a room reflecting the $600+ per night price tag and was really disappointed to find it at a Motel 6 quality. The room was tiny and the king/queen suite I had booked was a king/sofa pull-down bed. The hotel is really out-dated and in need of a lot of renovations. All the doors were difficult to open/close and the door knobs were almost falling off, there were cigarette butts all over the balcony, and the walls are thin enough to make you feel like you're part of the conversation in the next room. The most surprising part was that the people at the checkout counter agreed with my assessment. I have paid this much for hotel rooms before but have never been so completely disappointed. I can only imagine that any positive review of this hotel would only come from someone who would benefit from it. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone I knew.

Everyone has their own opinion but all others are WRONG!!! This place is one of the nicest places to stay in Point Pleasant, NJ. The food at Spano's Restaurant is Awesome!! and the atmosphere is very beachy/intimate. The staff is very knowelegeable about the area and they are very pleasant to deal with. If you have a problem they will try to make the customer happy. The rooms are a little outdated and a little pricey but where in NJ is it not pricey??? The spa is very nice. and reasonable pricing whatever you get. My whole family fiance, and mom go there all the time just to relax in the pool and sauna. I DEFINETELY RECCOMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS A GETAWAY OR ANYTHING ELSE!!!
