The building itself wasn't much to look at. We had a newly remodeled room that was fine for my husband, myself and my teeneaged daughter to sleep in. I will admit that I was frightened when we got to Venice beach, but there was nothing to worry about. There were a lot of interesting people to meet. Service was awful. Don't expect any extras. This is just a place to sleep before you explore this part of California.
The best part was being able to wake up and go out to the boardwalk in the morning watch my girl skateboard down venice beach. Not recommended to your typical suburban family.
Not luxury hotel but clean and comfortable.
Very kind and nice personnel at the reception.I was there from Italy in October 2007. It would be better if they had a space for breakfast, that can be taken in one of the Front Ocean Walk Cafes, that anyway do not open early in the morning.
Whomever is telling you this is a great place to stay, it must be the manager writing the review. It was disgusting for the one horrible night my friend an I stayed. Beds or should I say cots that we slept on were gross. It was so terrible my friend and I had to laugh about, even singing a song about how awful it was while we were there..."in our one star hotel"!!!
