Central Avenue House, Ocean Grove

A great place for a restful summer. I rented the cottage - which was the clean - bright and modern inside. The kitchen was well supplied with everything . The cottage has a porch , washer, dryer, microwave , air conditioners, ceiling fans , and a tv with a thousand channels to choose from to watch .The cottage was the best money every spent as it offered a truly peaceful place to rest and enjoy the beaches and surrounding areas. The bed was the most comfortable bed in the world ( and I have a bad back) .The location is a very close walk to the Groves Main Aveune, -( which is loaded with shops - boutiques and fine dining ) and beaches. The cottage is alos close to Asbury Park- which has great dining and an amazing music scene. The Bed and Breakfast - was clean and friendly and even closer to the beach than the cottage. . I was able to get a good cup of coffee each morning while sitting on a very friendly porch with all the guests in pj's rocking in rocking chairs while getting to know each other. The Inn Keeper- Jen- was amazing and helpful. and would be up each morning to talk to all her guests. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a quiet and close get away from NY. ( less than two hours if timed right). The Central Avenue House is Clean- close to Main Avenue in Ocean Grove- and Cookman Avenue Asbury Park - which has great night life and dining. And very close to all the beaches and boardwalks that are perfect for bike riding on each day. For the best value The Central Avenue House offers a comfortable bed and clean room- along with great service. I would highly recommend this to anyone .I give this place 4 starts.

I felt like I was in my grandmother's house. I loved looking at all the old family photos hung everywhere. Unpretentious. The granola in the morning, home made by a master chef, Janine, was just enough for breakfast - not overdone. Like all Victorian style residences, the bathrooms were in the hall, very clean, and with good water pressure. My privacy and seclusion were respected - a great place to recover from jet lag after a trip to South Korea. The beach is literally 1 1/2 blocks away. Available are beach passes at a discount, towels, chairs, digging toys and umbrella. Ocean Grove and within a 1/4 mile walk on the board walk, Asbury Park, are rich with world class concert experiences – classical, blues to rock and roll. Check out concerts at the Auditorium and performances at the Stone Pony. Food is reasonably priced. I'd stay there again and again.
